I'd been using it for a few days and it's amazing, my hair stopped breaking, incredible shine and very soft. I stopped using it for a few days because my bottle spilt and during that time someone commented that the weird homeless person smell that was in the office lately had dissapeared :nono: :swearing::wasntme:

 That is hilarious!!! I've never heard it described as such!

For some reason, the smell bothered me a little bit when I first started using it, but now it doesn't bother me at all....I can barely smell it. I definitely think WGO is something that has to be used in moderation, and if you plan to oil your scalp, it's probably best to do it before bed so that the smell will have subsided a bit before morning.

The best remedy I have for cutting the scent though is peppermint oil. When I first started using WGO, the smell would have me about to vomit so I started adding 6-10 drops of peppermint oil or lavendar oil to the entire bottle, and I didn't have anymore problems. Hot 6 oil is definitely an option, but for me, it doesn't work nearly as well as WGO...maybe you could mix Hot 6 into the WGO to help cut the smell...

Just a few ideas

I added some WGO to my bottle of Surge but it probably is more effective by itself. I have been meaning to get some other oil to mix it with and I do have lavender oil already so I might try that...

I am laughing with you. Someone said something similiar to me about the MTG.

"That smell. Do you smell it?? It smells..."
"I smell it too. Its her hair."

I just posted about how I can calm the Sulfur smell down....

Try Asha's Omega Oil. I started using this recently and it smeels so good. I could not stand the smell of Wildgrowth oil either :nono:

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: Oh my god that is hilarious!!!! I use MTG and it stinks too. I use a whole lotta orange essential oil and now it smells like oranges. And I use it at night so in the morning it doesn't hardly smell like "wierd homeless person?" at all, just oranges.

:lachen: Your icons make it even funnier too!

ITA. A few drops of peppermint oil totally gets rid of the smell. Also, it doesn't smell nearly as strong when applied on wet, freshly washed hair.

This is funny... I tried WGO waayyy b4 I found the boards & I could NOT take that smell. :nono: I stopped after a week & gave my full bottle to my sister. BUT now I'm using MTG like it's nothing!!! I don't even smell it at all!-- which is GREAT (for me).

Hmmm.... :scratchch so if I can handle MTG, maybe I can try to WGO oil again.

Try The Roots Must Grow natural hair oil. Ingredients: olive oil, shea butter oil, sage, jojoba, biotin, capsicum, alfalfa, aloe vera, kelp extract, rosemary extract, horsetail, australian tea tree oil, peppermint oil, fragrance.

Divine, that's what I thought as well. I never got all the posts about it smelling stinky, but be warned not being able to smell it is the first sign!
You really have to ask others you trust to take a whiff, don't trust your own nose, WGO numbs it after a while, I swear. I'm wondering if I should give it another try but I'm scurred! Having your boss sniff around for the unbathed body is no joke.

I will try that peppermint oil technique, I hope it works I really love WGO.

I love some WGO. I'm going to get to bra-strap length with its help, I think. It doesn't smell bad to me. Strange, but not bad.

But then again, everyone's nose is different, just like everyone's tastebuds are different. People think I'm a weirdo because I can't drink Dasani bottled water, it tastes just like dishwater to me.

ITA it's concentrated and the bottle says only use 2 or 3 drops. I use it everyother night before bed and I don't smell it in the morning.
