while i did my transition i got my hair blow dried, pressed, then flat ironed (with tracks glued in) every week.....my hair was healthy still..but im sure there would have been less split ends if i had gone without all the heat....

I straighten weekly but one week I flatiron and the next week I rollerset and only flatiron the roots. I trim regularly, moisturize my ends, and occasionally wear my hair up.

Hairlove,

you don't wear your hair curly anymore?

For the winter I plan on flat ironing my hair once a week (after a wash and deep condition) and then cornrowing it to wear under a wig. I will make sure my hair is supper protected and moisturized. If I leave it in it natural state and do this I have to much matting and knots.

I have not done that in a while but about a year ago I used to get my hair done once a week at the salon and it thrived but then I stoped going and didn't know how to take care of it myself but continued to flat iron every week and of course it started to break.I think that if you know how to care for your hair, thanks to LHCF,then straightening it once a week is cool.

I flat iron weekly at the salon. My hair has definitely grown and seems to be quite healthy. I also get monthly steam treatments.

I used to just wash and go every morning, but that took too much time and now it is getting too cold for that.

My twists were nice, but I was sick of looking at them after a week.

Straight hair just all around works better for me.

I am natural and I have my hair pressed every week. No problem thus far. No heat damage. My hair reverts with every wash.
