Any naturals start their twists with braids?

I get so tired of my roots gettign puffy from moisturizing and rinsing my hair while in twists. I wonder if starting them with a braid would help to keep the roots looking neater longer??

I have. It certainly kept my roots looking neat. But, I only kept them in about 3 - 4 days at a time.

I'm going on vacation next week and I don't want to be bothered with my hair AT ALL, but I still want to look cute...the entire week. I think I'll try this method with shea butter and olive oil.

I sure did. And after I wore the twists, I wore the twist out with the roots still braided. And after I wore the twist out, I wore a braided roots wash and go. I was going to get my time's worth from that style!
