SUMMER IS HERE! Which means I'll be living at Jersey Shore this summer. I need some cute styles my hair is super thick and can be very challenging. I attached pictures of my hair detangled as you can see the back is tighter than the front.

Have you considered any braided styles or flat twists? Not your standard cornrows per se but some creative 1/2 up, 1/2 down styles or something along those lines? Not sure if that fits your personal tastes but when I'm at the beach I love stuff that can go from PS to night out with the addition of some cute hair accessories pretty quickly. Not to mention not having my hair every where while I'm swimming.

that's what I would like to try. Do you know what the best products would be to master a wash and go with my hair type?

Twist would be cool for chilling on the beach but whenever i try them they look so messy and juvenile. what's the best method for cute looking twist. Also, how do you secure your twists? Mine always unravel :nono: Not CUTE! lol

I feel like this is always my suggestion, but what about twists in a bun? That's what I'm going to wear next month when we (hopefully) go to the beach. I plan to put a flower on it, like this.

If you have trouble with them unraveling, you could try to use perm rods on the ends.

that's really cute. thanks i have to try the perm rods at the end of my hair. that's great advice:grin:

So ladies i try a wash and go and the pineapple method.. That isn't for every one :nono:. ULTIMATE FAIL when i woke up this morning. I just feel like giving up with the natural styles all together. I spend all this time trying and I can never achieve the look I want. What's the point?

Your hair is gorgeous, see Chime's (haircrush) video on a twistout and twistout maintenanance! You can do cute buns (messy, sleek, low, high) Bantu knot outs are quick and easy...girl with that beautiful head of hair you are not short on options :)
