What say you about our latest round of shame? I'm frankly tired but not that I'm throwing in the towel. I know I'm where I am because I was led to that truth. But how on earth can they expect us to just stand there and support all this for the appearance of unity? The truth is there...but some of our leadership...gracious sakes! What say you???

What did they do now? (Yes, I'm Catholic).

$33Million is nothing to the vatican. The church has bigger issue than a missing $33M. Yes I'm catholic. Unfortunately, not everyone in the church is honest.

To me, it's not the amount of money but the intent and the resultant familiar cover-up. If we can't be transparent...why even attempt to carry the gospel? Oy. I love my Church...but this stuff is getting embarassing. I know that it's supposedly taboo to talk about or even hint at disparaging the Church (I'm dreadfully honest and opinionated lol) but I'm a convert. Eh. It's just plain distressing. This, after that wonderful homily last week regarding stewardship and our call to be honest in our dealings, esp. in this world recession. Sigh. Well, another day, another 24 hours of hope, G-d willing.

Oh... OK...

I hadn't heard about this. I thought you were referring to Benedict XVI comparing Atheists to Nazis--not a smart move for a former member of the Hitler Youth!

It probably won't be long-drawn out like the other scandal. I hope we generally get over this mentality that it's sacrilege to speak up. If anything, you're supposed to be righteous and if some of the leaders aren't, call em out on it. The day I feel compelled to stop thinking is the day I die. Nobody can convince me that confronting evil committed under the cloak of the church is wrong. I vaguely remember Jesus kicking out the moneychasers. The entire church worldwide, no matter the denomination, getting shaken down, it seems.
