Any 4a/b use Affirm? If so, which one and what strength?

I used lye-normal strength. It does NOT straigthen my hair, no matter how long I leave it on!!!!!!!!

Self relaxed with Affirm Sensitive Scalp Normal (no lye) six weeks ago. Not a good move on my part as I'm underprocessed in the back. Gonna give it another try with the encouraging words of CCD - and have it applied at the salon next touch up.

But I do like the way Affirm makes my hair feel. So gonna stick with it for now.

It straightens my hair just fine...I haven't had to deal w. any underprocessed hair. Also, let me mention, that I get it done professionally...another reason why I probably haven't had a problem.

I use Affirm sensitive scalp(no-lye) regular and it works great for me, I also get it done professionaly, but working up my nerve to start doing it myself.

Ahhh Mona.....
Hey sorry to hear you are under processed /images/graemlins/perplexed.gif...hope it works out next time

And yes I got to the salon to have them do it....when I self relaxed years ago I would definitely, under, over whatever process my hair....now Im surprised I still had hair on my head

I use Affirm Sen.Scalp...Normal or Mild ( not sure though) I really think normal...AND my hair is not super straight either...after a few weeks my ends start to wave up so maybe that is something Affirm does....cause I think it partially breaks the bonds..( I could be wrong though /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif)

Good luck /images/graemlins/wave.gif

Same here.

Thanks CCD! /images/graemlins/wave.gif

Hopefully the next go round, professionally done, will be to my benefit. Looking at your hair gave me encouragement to give it another try.

Again...I just did a condition wash...and I really love how Affirm makes my hair feel. It feels stronger to me and soft.

Does anyone use Affirm Fiberguard?

And is there any Affirm relaxer that will make your hair straight? (My sis has very thick 4b hair)

I used too, but i suffered a lot of dryness inevitable breakage as a results not to mentioned underprocessed hair, it couldn't even texturise my hair so i had to switch to the orignal Afirm which is by far better IMHO.

I USE AFFIRM FIBERGUARD MILD (LYE). MY HAIR IS MEDIUM TEXTURE. MY HAIR STRAIGHTNENS WITH IT, BUT NOT BONE STRAIGHT! IF YOUR HAIR IS REALLY THICK, I THINK FIBERGUARD REGULAR STRENGTH SHOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE. SUPER STRENGTH RELAXERS SEEM TOO HARSH. /images/graemlins/spinning.gif

I use Affirm mild and I've always been UNDER-processed. I'm just waiting for the tub I have now to run out (which might take a while)so I can buy the regular formula

Yeah, I understand ya on that, but girl my hair was in need of some serious TLC, so mild is the way for me to go now! Maybe next year I will be brave enough to use regular! /images/graemlins/wink.gif
