with 3-7 inches baggy their whole head everyday?
Just curious to know if it hurts/helps...bcos i dont want my hair breaking off due to 24/7 wetness:)

I've done it from time to time overnight (not all day though) and my hair loved the non-stop moisture, I just can't stand that crunchy, shower-cap sound when I go to bed.

Yea I hate that sound too, but my hair has been dry lately so I probably should start doing it again.

oh my God hopeful...ur hair is so full, thick and lushhhhhhhh:lol:
how did u regrow ur nape area...i have the same prob ...only diff is my center nape is completely bald...have pics in m fotki...help a sista out...great progress by the way!:)

Hi i'm sort of new here (previous lurker) but i have about 4 inches of 4a hair and I cover with a grocery bag and put a satin bonnet over it, it's more comfortable to sleep on than the shower cap...HTH:look:

i use a processing cap sweetfacekay, instead of a shower cap...they are thinner and once u tie it down with 2 scarves i actually dont hear any crunchy noises:lol:

Thanks for the compliment:). What grows my nape out is moisture and braids (without extensions). Also no chemicals and no heat. When it was really damaged I used Carol's Daughter's Some of Maugerite's Magic, s-curl and lots of oil. Now it just needs s-curl, a little oil and to be left alone most of the time. My nape hair is finer, drier and coilier than the rest of my hair and is very fragile so it has to be babied. I hope you'll be able to regrow your center nape, it's probably a completely different texture than the rest of your hair and needs separate/different treatment.

it surely is a diff texture...almost like 3b...i will use scurl on it 2x a day and seal with castor oil,...what do u think?what is Carol's Daughter's Some of Maugerite's Magic? is it cream/grease? protein? what oil did u use?
TIA

S-curl and castor oil sounds good to me. CD's SOMM is a very thick, creamy product, I think it has shea butter in it. My nape hair was so damaged and dry at the time that if I used a lot of it and soaked my hair in oil over night, by morning nearly all of the product would be gone, my hair ate it up. Now that my hair is healthier I don't need it anymore. At the time, the oil I used was Khoret Amen, an oil also by Carol's Daughter. You can find the products at carolsdaughter.com. The main thing though is the moisture, oil and very little manipulation.

thank you so much hopeful.......how many months did u do this for b4 u stared to see progress...did u have to cut the left and right nape to even out once the center caught up.........sorry too many questions:)

Hey guys...Kindof off subject, too...The little (or no) manipulation thing...Not that my hair is starting to grow out, is SL, (I used to have short/spiked...lol), I'm always wanting to touch it and feel how long it's getting...Lots of natural curls in the back, especially...Any ideas?...Thanks...

I think I saw a difference after about three months. In six months you should see a big difference, otherwise then it may be a medical condition. My nape was so damaged from a bad relaxer that I pretty much cut it all off to about 1/8 inch. My entire nape was jacked, not just the center like yours. You should check out dontspeakdefeat's fotki album, you can find her in the member's list, she has a section in her album dedicated to growing out her kitchen area, very inspirational.

You do have to be careful, I mean you should enjoy your hair but if you keep playing with it and tugging at it too much, it will eventually break some.
