 I'm in love I don't know how I've ever striaghtend my hair before! I striatened my hair two days ago with Frizzease thermal protectant, This time I used Skala sea butter leave in While my hair was wet, and my Love Dax curling Wax. Before I show my hair from today This is a picture of what my hair used to look like when I striagtened it last year.

THe only complaint I have is with the lack of body, but I love to wear my hair waveyso I can braid it at night, or bantu it at night, but as the days go on it gets fuller, My press lasts from 2-3 weeks, but I wash my hair when ever my scalp gets itcy, which is usually every 5-6 days. I striaghten weekly and I haven't noticed super breakage or split ends.:yep:

How exactly are you using it, I love your results. I bought some too, I really need something weighty.
Do you section each area off and apply abit of dax, how much?

My exact routine was Wash, condition, Deep condition. Then I put in Skala's shea butter leave in, while my hair was still wet. I waited untill my hair dried a bit and I parted my hair into four sections. With in each section I would take a small section, Apply my Frizzease and pass over the section with my Maxiglide twice, applying Steam mid saft to tip. I also used the Chase method with my brush. Then I applied a tiny bit of Dax, I just use enough to get that supper glossy look and no frizz or fly aways. I pass once or twice with my maxi depending on how straight it was the first time. Once my hair was finished I applied Almond oil to my hair, and grapeseed and pepermint oil on my scalp. I wraped my hair and covered it up for the night. Depending on how fast I want to get done is the amount of heat I use, I'll range from 5-9 on my maxiglide, I used 9 this time. The key is to make sure your hair is moisturized while you striaghten it, if my hair felt dry, I added more skala shea butter leave in, and a tiny bit of almond oil to seal the moisture in.

My main use for dax is to hold moisture in, Dax saves my hair from Humidity and rain (sprinkles). I have saturated my hair with water at times when I braid or twist my hair, and my hair is still doesn't revert much. My hair never feels dry or rough. And every wash day my curls stay the same, they haven't loosened a bit.

I am going to try the Dax next time I straighten. I flat-ironed in April and got my hair relaxer straight, but it would not hold a curl (which was fine because it had alot of body and is long enough to look nice without the curl) and when I went to a bar with friends (it was raining outside and humid inside and outside) my hair got all swelled something fierce and I wound up putting it in a bun. The funny part is that the next day it was pin straight again after I put it in a ponytail overnight with a silk scarf.

Very nice results. Questions - you said you press every couple weeks but straighten every week. What's the difference? Also you say you haven't seen any real breakage from straightening. Your hair looks nice and full in your pics so I believe you. But what about growth - are you still gaining and retaining length? TIA

I said my press lasts from 2-3 weeks, but I wash my hair when ever my scalp gets itchy which is a week later, so I straighten my hair once a week. My growth seems to be fine, I cut my hair last month from Raggidy MBL to shoulder length looking at my pictures from today and then It looks like I've gained an inch or so(maybe wishful thinking on my behalf:lachen:). Here are some pics of my then and Now.

It doesn't look like my hair has gotten any shorter

Hmmm.

My mom would clown me if I brought home some Dax, after I made fun of her for using that when I was kid.

But my hair fluffs upon humidity, so I may give it a whirl. No permanent damage, you say...

lol, I haven't seen any damage yet, no split end or anything. I've been doing this once a week for the past monthy and my hair seems to love it. I'm preaty heavy handed with the Heat protectant though, I use a half a pump to a full pump on each section of my hair, I'm very very light on the dax though.

I didn't know there wre so many different types of curl wax. Mizani and Keracare both make one. I think this will help me out alot.
ETA: Why do I feel like I'm back in my momma's kitchen, getting my hair pressed? Lol!
