Another L\'Oreal Product Comparison - Redken!

Was browsing the aisles at Ulta and found a serum-y type product by Redken called Heat Glide. Turns out it is the same thing as Loreal Vive Smooth-Intense Serum, which is a cheaper version of Kerastase Oleo-Relax. But ssssshhhh, don't tell anyone, and please don't reveal my identity, 'cause the suits at Big Corporate Cosmetics and Thensome company are looking for me.

That's good to know seeing as I can't even find the Smooth Intense serum anymore

Are Redken and L'Oreal related in some way like so many other product lines we know?

Re: Another L\'Oreal Product Comparison - Redken!

I think they're still making it SG. I'm pretty sure I've seen it in NY in different packaging.

L'Oreal is Notorious for doing this!!!

Redken Water Wax ($15) is IDENTICAL to its drugstore counterpart, L'Oreal Crystal Wax ($5)! These two products have the exact same ingredients. I use the Redken wax now, but I'll be switching to the L'Oreal when I run out.

Re: Another L\'Oreal Product Comparison - Redken!

My boyfriend bought me the whole Redken Smooth Down Line kit
it included the Heat Glide.
I also have the Loreal Vive Serum the Redken Heat Glide seem to work better the Loreal Serum to me it smooth out the hair better and left hair softer.
I will have to used them back to back to get a really good comparsion.

. Thanks for posting this, Heat Glide is one of my favorite products.

Yes, the brands may be under the same umbrulla company (L'Oreal) and the ingredients are the same, but the concentrations are usually slightly different, with the higher end line line using more of the expensive ingredients.

Are there any Biolage product comparisons?

I just bought their ultrahydrating balm, the first 5 ingredients are identical to LUST (which I don't like). Although, I think it is a little better, it is more moisturising as it has shea butter and other moisturising ingredients, not just cones.

Re: Another L\'Oreal Product Comparison - Redken!

Well, I'll add - I just discovered that the Nature's Therapy heat protectant and the Garnier Smoothing Milk have the same ingredients, with the exception of the herbal extracts in the NT. Of course, I'm

because I have both, one cost $5.99, the other is $1.99.

Re: Another L\'Oreal Product Comparison - Redken!

I'm very wary of Loreal owned products now, I wonder how much difference there is between Loreal, Lancome and Maybelline.
