Hi. This is totally my personal opinion, but I wouldn't buy it. I checked it out of the library to read before buying it and then decided not to purchase it. Just didn't feel there was a lot of info. there, besides the hair-typing system. I checked it out again to make sure I gave it a fair chance, and once again decided that it was not a purchase I'd be making.
I have it and I don't think it is worth it. He gives good styling advice and all, but he is basically trying to build a dependency on hair dressers. If you can, check it out of the library or sit in Barnes and Noble and skim through it but I wouldn't buy it.
She has a relaxer (lye). 4a/4b hair. She actually washes and conditions her own hair and goes to the studio with conditioner in her hair and Andre takes over from there.
He does the whole package on special occasions and when she travels.

I agree I have the book too, it was the first place I learned about the hair typing system, nothing else really jumped out at me.
