The BEST hot oil treatment I've ever had:

3 parts Unrefined Hemp Seed Oil
1 part Pure Carrot Oil
1 part Camelina Oil

Mix the oils in a microwave safe container and heat for about 15 seconds or until warm. Apply to clean damp hair. Cover with platic cap. Leave on for about 1 hour. Then rinse out and apply conditoner.

wow, this looks SO good! Do you mind telling me where you purchase these oils? tia

I buy my oils and butters online at FromNatureWithLove.com. :)
There's also a seller on ebay Horton Lane Company that sells these butters and oils for slightly less and their quality is excellent!

thanks camellia!

I definitely love Coconut Oil and will mix it with Castor oil, honey, and a bit of oat oil as a thirst quenching pre-poo treatment. I apply leave in protein on a regular basis now so this step has become essential in my regimen.

My most used hot oil treatment has been oil from the cupboard: canola, peanut, vegetable, corn. I also love oils such as Hot6, Proclaim7, Ginseng Wonder Grow 8. Next, I want to try Africa's Best.

I use a mixture of EVOO and Queen Helene's Jojoba Hot Oil Treatment along w/my DC. I did it on my Grannie yesterday and my mom (a stylist) commented on how wonderfully soft her hair was.

I do it every week when I DC myself and makes my hair so soft and shiny. :)

loving coconut oil my mom got some a few months ago and I have been sneaking it a tablespoon at a time. I mix it in with my conditioner and sit under the bonnet dryer for 25 min. Hair comes out shiny and detangled.
I just discovered how much I like coconut oil added to my conditioners.

I didn't vote because I haven't tried all of these. I have used Alma oil(on my head currently) and OJON. I will next try olive oil, coconut oil, and castor oil, but not my JBCO. JBCO is too thick and I don't want to use it all up on a hot oil treatment.

I love love Kemi oil. I use a dime size amount of it when I wrap my hair at night before bed and the result is soft, shiny, nice smelling hair.:D

I voted for Amla before I received my Red Palm oil and I have to agree with Sareca. Red Palm is the ish!!!!

ETA: I have also been using (and LOVING) coconut oil and shikakai oil lately.

Ain't it tho!

Thanks ladies!
It's true that there is too little in the bottle to be using WGO as hot oil treatment! Although I know that it would work serious wonders because I heated it up, used it overnight on my scalp and 3-4" of my ends and my hair just felt rejuvinated! You could see a difference between the hair not with WGO and the hair with it.
I lurve Castor oil. It is brilliant but thick and sticky! I would like to try Coconut oil as I used to use a mixture of coconut paste, honey, Olive oil and Motions CPR to deep condition and my hair loved it.
To be honest, I'm looking for a ready made hot oil treatment. I'm going to start doing overnight treatments with heated Castor oil, coconut oil, sage oil , olive oil and maybe a tad honey, but I would still like to find a hot oil treatment which I can also use overnight, and wake up and get that "ooh, ahhh" effect

What is this 'evoo' ?
And what (benefits for the hair) is the difference between a deep conditioning treatment, and a hot oil treatment?
You can make your own WGO knock-off, sans the smell:

mix equal parts jojoba, olive oil, and liquid soy lethicin. Adjust the amounts of the various oils to your liking.

IMO, the SOY LETHICIN is what gives the WGO its softening characteristic. Try it and see if you like it for a deep con, I've never used it for that.

Would it be beneficial to do a hot oil treatment and then DC? I'm thinking put the oil on dry hair, sit under the dryer for 15 mins with plastic cap, then put the dc in and sit under the dryer again for 15-30 mins.
