I've been lurking for the better part of a year. But I had to break my lurkdom just to tell you how good of a laugh you gave me OP. Luv Ya! LMAO

J/k... I just got mine today.. and i straightend my hair.. I love it soo much i need to be ashamed of myself.

I straightened by washing and extra DCing the day before, then did a braid out to dry... i stretched my hair as much as possible b4 i did it.. I then took thin sections and used the heat protecant/anti frizz they sent ... It was ok, i guess.. But the big thing i did was detangle.. I did a lot of it just to makesure the teeth didnt catch on my hair... i think thats a big thing and how you can lose hair... So, i went over eachh section twice, on number 5 heat setting...


My hair hasnt been this straight since i went to the Egyptian salon, Ossamas.... OMG it is so soft and swingy.. no burnt smell or anything.. I love it...

I plan to try to use heat maybe 2 a month if that.. I want to make sure i keep the progress i have made thus far...

Perhaps this really was an open letter to the inventor of the Maxiglide...I hope you post these pics by tomorrow....

What happened?

I've been thinking about stopping in there because I need somewhere to get my hair straightened.

I used to go to Yehia regularly to get my hair colored. but once he had one of the other stylist to blow my roots out to apply the color and burned the $%&# out of me. I thought my scalp would peel off.

My Ossama's experience was part of the reason I joined this site. I was a walk-in at the one downtown on Dearborn (I don't think its there anymore) Anyway, after they washed, conditioned and blowfried my hair I asked the stylist to give me a trim. He ruined my hair. But it was my fault because I allowed him to do it. This fool clipped my hair as he curled each section. and in the end the way he styled my hair was horrible too.

I went home and washed it out and thats when I noticed just how bad the cut was.:nono: That was the first time I cried after getting my hair done. I couldn't even bring myself to go work the next day. I ended up going to my SuperCuts lady and she fixed it for me.

I think my experience was unique. I know plenty of people who love Ossama's but that experience ruined it for me.
