Ampro Protein Styling Gel to not be wasted???

Hey everyone, I've got a tub of this stuff(black one) lying around, which I don't even use anymore since like early last year. So was wondering in your trysts and experiences have you found a way to use this particular item up? Say as in mixing it with something or whatever so as not to let it go to waste? I hate the way the stuff gets stuck in my nails and flakes on my hair, which is why I don't use it, but I'm trying to see if this can be used up or should I trash it? TIA!

You can use it on your edges. Just don't put it all over your hair. I wouldn't mix it with anything. I don't see a problem with it if you wash it out and don't try and comb through it once it's dry. I use the clear one sometimes.

Thanks glamazon for that, but unfortunately I can't use that on my edges at all whatsoever. The last time I used it, it was like it was saying "Are you kidding me, chile?" Just figured someone may have put something in to try seeing if it would do better mixed with something else.

It works best w/an oil for me---that way it doesnt look dry, and it doesnt flake, then your scarf at night. Its the only thing that holds my hair down cant believe yours say ha.
Some of my friends use it with water or a moisturizer....tried that?

Anyway, back in the day i've only seen it mixed with vasaline as a hair pomade nono

Maybe you can mix it with a conditoner---i saw in a thread someone said miss jessies curly pudding equaled a conditoner and gel.
It was in the unpopular thread i think
I believe it was a joke....but im not sure if its done or not

LOL But the two mixed together before putting on my hair, nah, never tried that way. As for the knockoff Miss Jessies, nope never tried that neither, wonder if that holds true though. I HAVE tried one of the Miss Jessie's knockoffs from the recipes board and that one was good. Just don't know about this conditioner + gel combo. Would kind of think that'd make it flakey it sounds like. Also on another note, that's only thing that holds your edges down, whereas fantasia ic gel does the trick for me, or even some plain aloe vera gel too (just recently discovered that good ole FOTE). I just want to use this ampro one up before I buy more stuffs, so I don't become a PJ, know what I mean?

Yeah i would say the wet hair counts lol

I feel like its such a waste of money, i would much rather use it up really quick

But, i think you would be okay with either keeping it and putting it to the side, or throwing it away.

Maybe if you need stronger hold, you can use alittle with Fantasia IC ---Ive done that before.

Things like gels, greases, and oilsheens, i just consider those my "fun products"....I have like 9/10 staples that will never change and are important, but the gels and greases ect. are always something new to try that are not really essential
I have jam, mango butter, ampro, and fantasica ic for gels
Their all different ingredients, and whenever i hear about a new product, i look, and realize that i already have that type of gel/holding agent. I havent brought a new gel in like a year. Its actually saved me some money. Because i've found jam is good for this, fantasic for this ect.
An excellent idea to use that ampro might just pop or, or somebody may make a thread about it, or you might want to revisit it (i've dont that too many times lol).....

On the other hand if you want to just throw it away, you've had it for like a year, and it cost like $4 or somthing, thats only like 35 cents a month you've wasted lol.

For shampoos and conditoners i always shave with it or give it away.
