i like it. i have the dabur kind. i warm it in hot water and do a hot oil treatment with it.

I do hot oil pre poo treatments with it every now and then. I don't use it a lot though because it STANKS.

Even after shampooing, conditioning and adding a leave in, the amla stench is still in my head :perplexed

I don't notice any added benefits from using it, I just use it so I can hurry up and get rid of it :ohwell:

Dlewis turned me on to Amla oil....I've been in luv wit it err since. I use it as a pre poo...it gives my hurr supa shine and strength.:yep:

I never paid attention to the strength or shine but I do smell the stench!!
I think I put too much in last time I pre-pooed with overnight b/c my pillows are green and I could still smell it 4 days later. UGH!

I hope more people respond to this thread. I'm curious about Amla also :yep:. It seems that most people use it only use it as a pre poo~ If you can get past the smell. I'm scared to smell it~

Yea I was scared to smell it also from all the reviews.. It does stink but its bearable.. And yes you can stimm smell it days later.. So I dont use alot.. I havent seen a change in my hair because im having severe breakage issuses. But i will continue to use and see whats happens.

I love it! It's one of my staples. I use it with VO5 Kiwi Lime conditioner to cowash. Love it! Lots of shine and detangles like a dream.

yeah i agree. i did a pre-poo with it this afternoon and i'm still smelling it in my hair. it partially prevented me from going out tonight lol :nono:

however, it seems to be making my hair feel and look healthy. i've used it 3 times in the past 2 weeks. first time i used it, my hair felt hard after rinsing it out but not anymore. i dont know if its due to the amla oil or just the moisturizers and lack of heat i've been using for 2 weeks now. :drunk:

I'll Amen the smell YUCK! I am planning on buy some hairveda products that have amla oil in them to give it another shot

I use it in my DC concoction so I don't really smell it. I got mine from FNWL.

I actually like the smell, but I don't like all the dye in it. So I just add a little to my mix or I make my own. I use it as a pre poo.

I have the FUNKY dabur oil :ohwell:. I used it once as a prepoo and retired it to the PJ graveyard. I can't get past the stench to use it again.

i love amla lite i use it after i moisturize my hair as a leave in to seal in moisture it leaves my hair so soft with zero tanglesssssss and i also use it after i press out my hair to make my hair super shiny

I love amla oil! I've recently started adding it to my spritz and it makes my hair soooooo soft:love2:

I use Amla Oil for pre-poos and oil rinses. I don't mind the smell, but because it has mineral oil in it I never put it directly on my scalp. Its one of my staples, cheap, cheerful and inexpensive, and above all it works wonders for my hair health.

I'm not sure what amla oil does for my hair. I use it as a pre poo sometimes and my hair is kinda hard when I rinse the oil out, not dry, just hard. The smell is very ethnic, not an American aroma. I'm using it up very slowly.

I warm mine for my pre poo, i use 2 tablespoons of amla oil, coconut oil, and olive oil. Along with 2 cloves of crushed garlic. I warm it in the microwave for a few seconds and then leave it on my hair for about an hour. then rinse it out with a gentle shampoo, i then follow that with an egg and mayo treatment which is left on for an hour. it leaves my hair so soft and shiny. I however only follow with the egg treatment every other week. great results.

My friend who is indian uses amla oil all the time, when an indian baby girl is born their heads are shaved and then amla oil is used every so often. It is said that it makes their hair grow a lot healthier and thicker that way.

It gave me real good growth quickly. The first one I brought had a stem in the middle that contained the herbs. The smell wasn't that bad. The second one I got was dark and smelled so bad.

I use Dabur Amla Oil two to three times a week. I cut the smell with coconut oil (I boil some water and put an applicator bottle with both oils in there, once warm I shake the bottle to mix them, when its cool again the smell is pleasant and not overwhelming). It leaves my hair moisturized and contributes to the continued thickness of my hair. I use it as an overnight pre-poo.

Ladies yall scared me !!! I bought the Amla and the first thing I did was smell it~ It doesn't smell so bad. I was thinking it was gonna be funky but it is a baby powderish perfumy smell :look:. That's not to bad to me. Especially if it's just gonna be a pre-poo. I had my SO smell it he said it smells better than the other stuff. Vatika and Mahabringraj Oil.

I like it. It makes my hair shine and even softens my hair. When I airdry my hair, I don't use moisturizer and it keeps it soft.

I was told that it tends to keep the hair dark, which is why I started using it because I henna/indigo my hair. The smell doesn't bother me, it goes away after a while. I recommend.

I tried it as a pree poo, but nothing exciting happened to my hair. It's still under my sink. I didn't mind the smell though.
