Amerie Cut her Hair....Things are changing

I know this is another thread but I wanted some of your opinions

I think Amerie hair is great.

THIS IS A GREAT STATEMENT FOR LADIES WHO'S HAIR ISNT THAT LONG, YOU CAN STILL BE SEXY AND ACCEPTED WITHOUT A BEYOUNCE/CIARA WEAVE OR WHATEVER THEY WEAR. I KNOW AMERIES WAS JUST ABOUT ALL HERS

Now she is established she can be wants she wants, she no longer has be that stereo-typical pop star with long to floor hair.

Something got to change ladies... It funny before seeing this photo I wanted my hair to be like hers.

NOW its actually longer with the same fullness So all my ladies who have not fully reached there goals myself included... It OK were still CUTE. We can have hair longer that Amerie in no-time!!

This is exactly what I was thinking. Ladies like the short hair look b/c it is cute and non-threatening. Men love the long hair b/c it is sexy.

I think that this hair style is so cute on her! I love the fact that she is daring with her looks and is not afraid to take hair risks and I also love the fact that she keeps her hair fairly dark, I've never seen her trying to be blonde and if she does I know she'll make it look good!

I think that style looks beautiful on her, and would look great on many women. I've cut my hair that length before.

Like SistaSlick and ClassiMami said, though, I can't tell if Amerie's style in the pic is a true cut or pinned up (which is always a great way to have a temporary short do). But, I think that short hair has been considered sexy on women in America for a long time, at least from about the 1920s on with the flappers, Twiggy (from England, of course), Halle, Toni, etc. I realize that there might not be a short-haired beauty 'icon' today though.

ETA: I forgot to say that this style reminds me of a 1960s Supremes hairdo. I wonder if that was the look she and her stylist were after.

Exactly! Amerie does look like a doll. The hair looks nice on her because it doesn't overpower her looks. She's like Halle in that respect. She looks great with long hair, but she looks extra spectacular with short hair. It's nice that she's done something to set herself apart from the others.

I agree. Amerie's hair looks great! And I think it's a "change"...sort of. It's a change from the Beyonce-long-hair-weave look, but then again, I always thought that women like Halle Berry were always considered "sexy", and they're proof that you dont' have to have LONG hair in order to be considered sexy.

This is what I'm thinking too. It won't be nothing for her to slap some weave up in there for shows and music videos, etc. The short her is cute on her and she's still pretty regardless...but I prefer the long hair on her. I think the short style ages her.
