Congrats! That inspires me. Cuz sometimes I feel like quitting school so i can just come home an watch TV instead!!!

I've gone through beauty school, and trust me when you get there you're gonna love it. I know so many mature students in their 40's, 50's and even 60's. Don't hold back and keep thinking 'what if'...'if only'. I've also just graduated with a bachelors degree at the age of 25 .
You have you're WHOLE life ahead of you.

to go to beauty school? I'm 31. I relocated and I'm having a hard time finding a decent job. I'm currently taking classes toward a Bachelor's, but it's taking so long. I've enjoyed doing hair since I was a pre-teen and I consider myself pretty good at it. I actually had a close friend of the family offer to pay my tuition for Dudley's Beauty College when I was 18 but turned it down. I'm seriously contemplating it, but I keep thinking "how long would my career last?" I just don't see myself at 60 still doing hair. Attending FT takes about 10 months while PT is 15 months.(I would be going to a local school.)

IDK if it's a good idea or not, any advice or suggestions?

You are never too old to do anything that you put your mind to.

I went to nail school when I was in my 30's and I did so well I was recruited to work for a nail company in California. I traveled a lot with them being an educator and I met many important people in the beauty business . I did nails for the famous models at the 7th on 6th fashion shows here in NY . I only quit because I spending too much time away from my DH.

I'm now 50 and I decided that I want to become a certified personal trainer. I'm basically doing it to immerse myself in a healthier lifestyle and I want to help mature women to be fit because I've had a weight problem all my life .

I felt the same as you am I too old? I even like you asked here if anyone thought I was too old but I didn't get much response at all.

I'm going for it anyway and I hope to make the most of it. People are living longer now and I think mature people would like to be able to relate to people that are closer to their age and doing well.

I worked with a urologist and we were talking one day. He told me he didnt go into medical school until he was 42. He said he thought he was too old but his wife asked him how old will he be in 10 years? He said 52. She was like you can be 52 with a DR's degree or whatever you call it. So no, you are not too old. I was contemplating going to hair school myself and I'm almost 30.

No, you good to go. I'm 33 and I wouldn't think twice about going to beauty school if that's what I really wanted to do.

Even if it was 4 years... in 4 years you could be realizing a dream or still dreaming. Go for it!

I agree, I'm sure anyone would rather be 50 yo with a degree/hair license than 50 yo without one I know I sure in the hayl would

Thanks for all the encouragement ladies. I"M GOING FOR IT!! I sent an info request to the school and I'm waiting to hear from them. I'll keep you guys posted.
