The first time I encountered Chi was in a salon in Philly. I got my hair permed, and curled and the stylist put it on my hair. Then when I went home and used it to pin curl at night, I loved it because its light, and if I needed to use heat I knew my hair would be good. But that was back when my hair was relaxed. Now that my hair is natural I doubt I'll like to use the product. I used the Chi shampoo and conditioner thinking it would make my hair glorious. I LOATHED it.

This was my experience in 2005....
Awful stuff...

Sabino is the only stuff I will use now.

I dont like that it smells like my 6th grade teacher  and it dries my hair out after using it for about month.

Farouk products ( CHI, Biosilk,Etc) have Very High SD Alcohol contents. I have no idea why.
But - they do....
I stopped buying all of their silicone/protection products because of that...

Doesn't SMB have alcohol in it as well? I just got some of that. I don't mind Chi but it kind of makes my hair feels weird. Good on day one but then kind of stuck together...hmm. If I like SMB I probably won't use Chi again. My sister may like it.

chi silk infusion doesn't contain alcohol. smb doesn't contain alcohol either. biosilk does contain alcohol.

I use this to seal my leave in before rollersetting...detangles like a dream. Other than that, serves no purpose. Did I say I love the smell? :look:

I don't remember if I posted here, but if I didn't I love CSI. :lick: The smell is weird for a woman's product but thankfully it doesn't last. This stuff is like liquid gold and a little goes a long way, it just melts right in with or without heat. I use it for wetsets and I've been on the same bottle for over a year. I already have a back up bottle and I will keep using this. It's the best serum I've tried. :yep: Fhi hot sauce is garbage for flat ironing - I tried both and the Chi side was waaaaaaay softer.

Nope, my hair doesn't seem to like it either. The best serums for my hair have been Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide and Keracare Silken Seal.

I keep hearing about Heat Glide! I love Redken and I will have to try this!!!! I have so many other serums to use up first though. :ohwell:

I didn't like it when i was using it to flat iron. as a protectant.
Now i use it after applying my leave in condishes,as a sealant i guess:drunk:,and i absolutely love the stuff:yep:
I just a lil bit at a time,so no build-up here, and i am really feeling this combo, but i have only been doing it since i relaxed a week ago.
I am trying to get back to washing once a week,so i'm trying to cut down on my oil usage,so we'll see how this works.

I used to like CHI Silk Infusion but I don't anymore. I like SMB much better; it is less sticky and weighs the hair down less for me. I even like Neutrogena (sp?) serum better.
