who doesn't wet set their hair a certain direction? I notice when everyone talks about rollersetting most people roll the hair in a certain way. I don't. I get the set that I like by letting the rollers go where they go. The next time I do a set I will take pictures.

I rollerset in whatever direction feels comfortable for me, which could be two directions or more on my head. The results are pretty much the same for me. I do agree that Macherieamour's technique of rolling "up" does get the roots straighter than the other directions.

When I rod or straw set I roll in random directions for the back 2/3. The front 1/3 does get rolled under because I can get a tighter set in the front. Also, if my edges dry too fast in the front it gets fuzzy there. rolling under in the front hides the frizz better.
