but the thing is I dont know if im using the iron when its too hot.is there a way to know if the iron is too hot for my hair?

is there a temp. setting? for relaxed hair you should try to use the lower settings b/c over time it will damage your hair.

yeah the iron goes up to 450 but i would never let it go that high. I have a dumb question tho, is it bad when after i put heat protectant on my hair and i put the iron to it, i see little smoke?

To be honest, I don't think seeing smoke is automatically synonomous w/burning your hair. When I do mine, I use a serum and I see smoke when I flatiron. No damage. Trust me, when you burn your hair, you know! You'll see it AND hear it...

I think as long as you keep it below 450, use an adequate amt of heat protectant, flat iron in quick strokes/passes, you should be fine... but listen to your hair. Only you know your hair's heat limit. And by the looks of it, you've been listening and taking care of it quite well!
