Has any one tried anything from this line (Alterna Caviar)? If so, what did you think of it?

I was about to ask about that line! (been watching too much Youtube when I should studying for finals:grin:). Hopefully someone can help give a review on this stuff

Yeah, I was lurking on youtube too! I also should be studying for my state board exams.I want to run out and buy it so bad.

I have tried the Alterna 10 and the Sea Silk conditioners - not my favorites at all. While I pretty much hated them, I have both to my daughter and she loves them both. While they made my hair hard and dry, hers is silky and shiney - just goes to show the lhcf adage is true- what works for one person's hair...

You'd think at the price they charge, they would work for everyone!

Yes, I use to use this in 06'! I got my mom and my sister hooked on it. The price is steep, but I was getting it for free cause I worked at a salon which carried it.

I don't use it anymore(college student), my mom still does though.

One of my best friends is a hair stylists that use to carry this line in his shop. Okay back when Alterna first hit the scene they were charging like $80.00 for the shampoo and conditioner. The Alterna Caviar it said on the bottle to heat in the microwave for like a hot conditioner treatment. WAY too expensive for my wallet.

I like the hemp shine spray.

I used the shine shampoo and hemp conditioner. Glad I got them for free (won a gift certificate at www.misikko.com !) cause I woulda been really salty if I'd payed so much and got sub-par results.

The shampoo smelled good, like oranges. But it slightly dried my hair out and added very little noticeable shine

The hemp conditioner, I don't even remember really. That's how good it was :ohwell:

My stylist used a leave in spray from that line on my hair. She recommended it but the price is too steep for me.

I'm secretly relieved. I couldn't cope with yet another "must buy" product!:lol:

I just bought the Caviar Moisture Conditioner, and I will repost with my opinion after I use it next weekend.

I used the shampoo and conditioner below with good results before. Shampoo still did not give as good a finish as the discontinued Creme of Nature Green/Red, which has great ingredients too. Conditioenr had decent slip, but nothing to do cartwheels about for the price.

I preferred Phyto to Alterna line at the time - and they were priced almost similarly-, so I didn't repurchase when I finished. But if I saw it on sale for a really good deal, I would definitely keep it in the arsenal to use again.

I also have tried ( and still have) the hair mask. (http://www.folica.com/Alterna_Caviar__d4747.html)

To me, worked just as well as any high-end deep conditioner, nothing overly exceptional, again price point made me prefer a different product because the finish didn't leave a lasting impression on me. I've only used it once or twice, so maybe it improves over time - but I will probably give to my mom since I'm pretty satisfied with current products. Again - if I saw it in TJ Maxx for $8, I would get it, because I like the ingredients and it wasn't a bad product.

TJ Max has 3 different lines of Alterna products for half the price.
I have used their products in the past and was not impressed, especially for the price tag.:nono:
I have used cheaper product with better results.
