Ok, my mother bought some Aloe vera juice and on the label it says it contains mucopolysaccharides. Isn't this the same ingredient in Surge that is supposed to encourage hair growth? I was wondering if this could possibly be substituted for Surge to get a similar effect.

( I wouldn't pour it on my head, though, cause it recommends that you drink 2-6 ounces daily.

What are your thoughts on this?

When I lived in Brazil,my grandmother grew the aloe vera in her back yard. My aunts would use the pulp directly onto the hair. I used that many times. I never noticed any different growth rate, but it did strenghthen my hair a little. I had to use a mosturizing conditioner after deep conditioning with the pulp, though.
I don't think there would be a problem if you used the juice on your hair.

I don't see why you couldn't use the juice on your hair/scalp. Aloe vera is used topically for burns, etc. Didn't someone post about that same ingredient in Surge that was found in something else to aid in healing, or something like that. (Can't remember exactly what the post was.)
