Aloe Vera in HSR Conditioner

HSR conditioner is touted as being an effective, protein-free moisturizer. In fact, many recommend using it after the Aphogee 2-step treatment.

However, aloe vera is the second ingredient in the conditioner. I thought that aloe vera had a lot of plant proteins. (That's why Cathy Howse's UBH deep conditioner makes the hair hard and strenghtens it--because it has protein from aloe vera).

So, is the HSR conditioner really protein-free if it has aloe vera? And is it really okay to use this after the Aphogee 2-step treatment?

HSR is NOT protein free but it doesn't have a strong amount.
I called aubrey after people kept claiming it was protein free and they confirmed they make no protein free conditioners.
If you use the product you will have no hardness it feels just like a moisturizing conditioner so I can understand people assuming its protein free

i have used hsr, wc, or gbp after the aphogee 2 step and haven't had any issues with any of them. just soft manageable hair with curl definition :)

IMO speaking about hair, when we say protein, it's not about natural protein that you can find in fruits(almonds, olives, apricots) and plants(beans, pumpkin, peas) no no, it's about hydrolysed proteins. these forms of proteins can aDsorb to hair for leaving a fortifying film that will strengthen hair cuticules. and only the hydrolysed ones can bind to hair due to their sizes. Jc of thenaturalhaven(google it) wrote an article about this. that amino acids in fruits/vegetables won't do a thing to hair because these protein are literarlly to big for binding to hair. Otherwise, others nutrients in these fruits/herbs/vegetables can be great for hair like bananas(brings moisture):lick:

I use aloe vera juice to moisturize my hair, it's so great some people like, some don't. You should try and just see as you hair reacts to Honeysuckle rose by aubrey organics, but this conditioner is surely one of the most liked :yep: for its moisturizing deep conditioning properties.

I had an epic protein overload form an avocado and an egg.

I used HSR after it and it felt like moisture. Actually, HSR and aloe juice were the 2 only things that brought me back on track when no other form of moisture was working for a month or so. Especially aloe juice (with oil or with conditioner). I don't know the theory behind this but I know for sure now that I now trust aloe juice when I need moisture.

I used to use aloe gel and the "hard effect" was due to the thickeners used in it. If I use the juice, and an oil with it, I get moisture.
I find AO White Camellia even more moisturizing than HSR now though.
