Mook's hair

New Member
Hi Ladies, Now I've got all the twists in, they just need to be cut and I need to do something to the ends.

These are much bulkier than I anticipated. I guess because my hair is so uber-thick. Anyone have any ideas for how I can thin them out.
Also, What do ya'll think I should do with the ends?
Will spiraling them make it bulkier?
I won't use this kind of hair again. This brand is Bobbi Boss Jamaica Braid 20".

Nice parts:) Did you blow dry your hair first? Your own hair twist looks good. Can't wait till you BC:)

I don't know much about extensions, but I think you would have had to thin the hair as you added and twisted it.

Am I right ladies?

Very pretty...if someone said I'll give you $10,000.00 to do your own twists. I'd have to pass, no way I can do that :nono:

They don't look too thick to me, maybe they'll relax a bit if you wet them down. The only way you could have made them thinner is before you added the hair in.

If it's synthetic hair I agree with the perm rods & hot water to put a curl on the ends.

Great job Mook. They don't look bulky to me. Plus twists usually need a day or two in order to settle. Are you going to use perm rods and dip the ends? How long did they take?

I think I might redo some of the ones in the middle. I am thinking about making some of the squares bigger.

I think next time I'll just use loose hair instead of the kind that is already grouped into a strand. It seems my hair is too thick and therefore needs less hair per twist than this pre packaged brand has divided.

I'm getting ready to start cutting these now. At the moment I look way to 1994 circa Poetic Justice.

I swear, I look just like my Freshman college ID photo.

If you want to finish the ends without them sitting "out" the way this style usually does, just braid them up into big bunches and dip them in hot water sans perm rods. Let them dry and then release. The smaller the bunches, the tighter the "wave" on the end and the more the heat can compact them.

Good luck. I think you did an excellent job...especially using the no-braid method. I've done that on others but not myself. :)

Mook they dont look too thick to me. You did a great job girlie. Very neat. Use tiny perm rods and curl the ends.

when i do mine i use about 1/2 or even less of the pre clumped twist piece. that way they dont get too bulky. they look good and i love how you attached them. it looks like its all yours.

Nice work, Mook!

How long did this take you? It looks very professional. I think you just found a side hustle, fa real!

You did an excellent job. The way to keep the bulk down is using less hair. I know the hair I use comes like pre stranded (whatever that is), but it is way too much hair sometimes. So you have to find a way to pull the hair apart. I tried this weekend and I kept messing up at least the second piece of hair I wanted to keep. So I get 1 good piece of out of it....I hope to change that.

You could try to set the ends on rollers and curl.

Your first post inspired me to try flat twist extensions for the first time. They came out pretty decent. My ends aren't great, but I planned to wear my hair bunned up anyways or in some type of up style. I might take pictures later. THANKS!
