Girls,

I want to know if you have used a product on your hair that actually did what it says it is supposed to do? For example "Instant softness that last".....I'm just curious because I'm tired of spending money!

Is there such thing as a miracle product? I'm just venting...please excuse me!

Well, I'm 4a mostly, but I like the Profectiv products. Also glycerin sprays (used for Jherri curls) add moisture. You could make your own with just glycerin and water though. I think you just have to keep experimenting. I started wearing my natural hair out in Nov 2003, and I'm still looking for those "holy grail" products. Shea butter is also good for softness. I tend to like butters, and oil based creams. Water based creams (like EQP Mango butter and Hollywoor Beauty Olive cream and Carrot cream) didn't do anything for my hair. HTH!

I use Carols daughter products, trust me they are the bomb. When it comes to holy grails those products keep my twist on point. Also you should keep a bottle of Stasoffro, some people mix it with water to make it a little less greasy.

i have to agree with inkysphinx, my hair doesn't like those type of cremes. I have found my holy grails which are b n s creamy set salons selective loosley defined and glycerine and rose water.

Theese products keep my hair incredibly moisturised. especially the glycerin and rosewater. Thats what i use for softness. It keeps hair soft for about a week cheap and affordable. I have found that my hair loves cheapy things. i tried all the expensive stuff like redken, paul mitchell and organics and my hair hates them.

My holy grail is CD's Hair Milk. I don't like a lot of the glycerin based sprays because they make my hair sticky and that's a no-no in my book. Shea butter was alright on my hair and avocado butter was great (but since mine was old it left a white film, but I can't wait for my new batch). Mango Butter is aight, Profective Root Health has been aight.

I'm 4a/4b and 3c.
I found that Shea Butter adds some sheen and softness.
Lottabody cream wrap is the bomb.

I want to try this mango butter everyone is raving about and the stasofro and the profectiv products

I tried glycerine and h20 - nothing blew me out of the water
i don't like products that leave my hair sticky/greasy or last for a few moments then my hair is dry again.

so far, lottabody is the best! Sheen and softness

Oils don't seem to do much for my hair - creams work better

I guess everyone's hair is different. I use carol's daughter products and they do nothing for my hair. I get instant gratification but no lasting results. If I use this products at night, by the next morning my hair is dry as usual.

I used shea butter but it wasn't nothing to write home about. I am still searching for the "holy grail" product. The one thing I can co-sign on is that water/glycerin mixture. Don't overdose on the glycerin though. I made that mistake and it just makes your hair sticky.

I bought ORS carrot oil to see what that feels like. Other than that, I am fresh out of ideas.
I had a whole bunch of products I bought but now I am trying to use them out and go back to using only aveda products. I think switching from product to product is not healthy for our hair since we don't give any one product enough time (1+month) to give us our wanted results.

G'luck

What worked for me....profective breakfree, s-curl followed by shea butter, I am trying elasta qp mango butter and oil recovery but it's too soon to tell. So far profectiv is the only thing that makes the ends of my natural hair soft.

Thanks for all the recommendations, Ladies. I have & had some of the products ya'll mentioned. Maybe I just had them in the wrong measurements in my recipes. I must be patient.
