could some one post which alcohols dry the hair out and which ones don't.Thanks in advance

I also would like to know which alcohols dry out the hair. I purchased a bottle of pump it up platinum soft hold formula and the first ingredient listed is SDA40B Alcohol. I havent used it yet.Would appreciate some word on it. thanks a bunch

This is what I found . . .

"When choosing a product with alcohol, consider those with plant-derived alcohols, such as witch hazel, that act as lipo-solvents. This means they act like skin care products, moisturizing by emulsifying fatty acids anda llowing other beneficial proteins to penetrate. While some alcohols are more dehydrating to the hair than others (such as SD Alcohol and Isopropyl Alcohol), the important issue is to find formulas with a low percentage."

The only alcohol I know of in the 'good' category is Cetyl alcohol.
