Which Alcohols are the "Good" ones????

Which Alcohols are the \"Good\" ones????

I've started looking at the labels of my shampoos, conditioners, and leave ins very carefully since joining this board. I know to avoid mineral oil/petroleum/petrolatum and I know to be careful with alcohols but I don't know which ones are okay or which ones to avoid.
Does anyone have any insight on which ones get the green light to use?

I thought all of them were bad for the hair.

I do know that there are certain alcohols that are not drying to the hair. I believe that cetyl alcohol is one of them but I'm not 100 % sure. I also know that there are some that should be avoided. I just want to know which is which.....

I've heard that some alcohols are good but it seems when I avoid products with any alcohol, my hair does better!
