Air Drying with Blunt Cut Ends?

Question: Does blunt cut ends air dry differently than other types of ends?

Scenario: Another failed attempt at air drying. As I've posted in other threads, the roots and length of my hair are nice, soft and moisturized but my ends feel dry and rought. My ends are healthy as they were trimmed about a week ago and I don't use heat so I'm certain damaged ends are not the problem.

Prods: C/W with Aussie Moist. Applied Elasta QP H-Two, NTM Silk Leave In, a little Elasta QP Mango Butter to the ends and sealed with jbco.

Method: I scarf dried overnight with hair in ponytail rolled up in magnetic roller. Unfortunately, my ponytail didn't dry, so I applied a little more Mango Butter and jbco oil this morning and damp bunned to protect the ends...but ends dried feeling rough.

Suggestions?

I always air dry with a magnetic roller (even with my mesh rollers) on the ends and my ends looks just like a rollerset. I would say it's the QP Mango Butter OR your ends are not wet enough when you use the roller.

Try it again without the Mango Butter and make sure your ends are wet (not necessarily soaking) when you use the roller.

So, apply your QP HTwo, NTM Leave in, and seal with the JBCO.

It me a long time to figure the right combination for airdrying. I think it is less about the actual products and more about the technique. Some things that help me is applying a little more product than I normally would on dry hair hair. I apply products and smooth the hair down into the ponytail then apply oil to the ends and user a smaller comb to smooth. Leave the hair out for awhile so that its not soaking wet. Once the hair is 75% dry then roll the hair. I do basically the same thing when doing a braid out or twist out and it consistently works. So I say all that to say that maybe your ends need more product to prevent that dry feeling. It may also be the mango butter too!

Thank you -- times prior I've tried without Mango Butter and still received same results. I'll try to do the magnetic roller again but ensure the hair dries while rolled up. I'm determined to master this concept.

I'll ax the Mango Butter and focus on applying more product on the ends. I'll admit, I don't apply much product because of the concept "a little goes a long way" that many have stated.
