If you're only rinsing your hair once a week with conditioner and then only washing once a month, you could have some buildup which may be drying your hair out. The ends being the oldest part of the hair, is the most susceptible. I believe most of the ladies doing the CG routine (conditioner only washes), do it more often than once a week and at some point use something to clarify (like lemon juice added to the conditioner). On any account, water is the best moisturiser for your hair. I think your hair would benefit tremendously from rinsing with conditioner a little more often. Definitely get the S-Curl. That will help alot.
You can also try un-refined coconut oil for softening up the hair. What I do for me and my daughter (she's natural), is rub some into my hands and then distribute evenly throughout the hair, concentrating a lil extra on the ends. It makes my lil one's hair incredible soft and manageable. It actually smooths the texture of her hair down. It's an absolute must have. Give it a try and let me kow how you like it.
