Hi all, I'm new to the boards and am looking for some advice. I used aghogee 2 min re and then afterwards did a DC treatment using pantene replenishing mask. It is necessary to do both or can I do the aghogee without DC afterwards? I am in the process of transitioning from relaxed to natural.

All advice is greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that you always DC, especially after a protein treatment. But since the Aphogee 2 minute Reconstructor is considered milder than most, you could try it without the DC, if you want. But what you ultimately do will depend on your hair. Try it out to see how your hair looks and feels after using just the Aphogee 2 minute Reconstructor. Or if you'd like, you could try using an instant conditioner, so that you don't have to let it sit on your hair for as long (if time is the reason you don't want to DC).

Good luck to you and :welcome4:

I feel it's important to DC your hair everytime you wash your hair while transitioning. Normally when I shampoo wash my hair, I go straight to DC. I use Olive Oil Replenishing Cond. On other days if I cond wash only, I'll use my Aphogee 2 min for that or I may even use another cond, and then I DC. But always DC after washing preferably under heat or a steamer.

I tend to always follow up any protien with a moisturizing DC

I would agree. Even though A2min is mild, it may be strong for your hair. A moisturizing DC rarely hurts. Better safe than sorry till you get your regimen down pat.

This is what I do religiously. I always follow my weekly Aphogee 2 minute with a deep conditioner. Not because I have to but because I must DC once a week and I am used to doing the two on the same day. Also if my hair even thinks about wanting to get hard, it has no chance.

I was wondering if I could use the Aphogee 2 min every week. Now I know I can...thanks!

I mixed my DC and mild protein together. It is something that I have been doing for years since reading Carolyn Grey book. So I just mix whatever DC with my protein and a little honey and oil and leave on for about an 1 hour. Works perfect for me and is a time saver.
