I went to J C Penney and got a relaxer and I couldn't be happier.

The young lady set me down and asked what I was using before and then discussed with me what she would be using. We decided on the Affrim Sensitive scalp. I was wearing my 3/4/ fall when I came in and the first thing I said to her was "it's not as bad as it looks and explained that I hadn't had a relaxer since May. Guess what!!!! She understood becasue she strecthes also. How wonderful it is to find a hair dresser that goes as long as you so she knew exactly how to handle my hair. She said that the only thing that she said that she insists on are trims and that she didn't believe in cuts just trims. I asked for a roller set instead of curling it and she has no problem with doing that. After relaxing she just added some foam, I believe "Paul Mitchell" and processed to roll my hair. She didn't add anything else to my hair, expect she sprayed a little sheen before putting me under the dryer. The great thing is that she listened to me. Whe it came time to roll my hair she was going to put on the tan rollers and I suggested the green/teal ones and they worked out just great expect for a couple of places that needed the tan.

All in all I am very happy with results. This was my first time going so long without a relaxer and my hair is happier now than ever before.

And the the best thing is I didn't need a trim. She said that it could wait until the next time.

I did take one picture with my camera phone when I got home last night. I will take more over the weekend. Click on the link below to see the picture!!!!

your hair is pretty and thick. girl - you blessed to have a hairdresser that listens and understands. Where she at again??? :-)

I was thinking of going to JC Penney for my next relaxer. Good to hear you had such a nice experience. I will probably go scope them out this weekend ...

I'm at 7 weeks now, and I was natural for so long that NG doesn't "bother" me anymore. 4 months of stretching would be nice, but I think that 10 weeks might be realistic this go round.

Thanks ladies,

The stretch wasn't so hard except for the last two weeks, my hair just stop working with me, so I had to go with the fall. Until then I was able to wea curly rollerset and my UPA clip with no problem.

I would recommend JC Penneys. At least the one in Dover, DE

I was on the phone w/ LadyR as she walked in to get her relaxer. The stylist sounded so friendly and amused, when she explained it was not as bad as it looked. I glad it turned out so pretty! Congrats and keep on stretchin'!
