Afros? Is anyone else afraid to do one?

To RiverRock I'd say keep trying....for me pretty much all I had to do was pick it out after I had washed and I had a fro....I can take out any tangles I get from it by braiding it while tangled wetting saturating with slippy condish and detangling ends to roots:yep:

I love rocking fro's another thing I'd recommend is getting adventerous with different forms fro's can take like doing a flat-twist out or bantu knot out for a curly fro, those two styles are awesome because they keep the tangles away and give great definition and shine with no heat necessary:yep:

If I were to ever blow out my hair and make a retro looking afro... I think my afro would be about 18 inches high. It might be bad *** but kinda intimidating LOL

i cant wait to wear my fro out for the first time... im in ps mode, and just growing... but when i reaveal this hair im gonna rock it like pam greer.

Mine kind of flops over too. It has to be a twistout or braid out with some product in it to get it to stand up.

To answer your question..NO. I wouldn't rock just a for, lol I'd do a puff or have a headband on. If I was to just rock the fro it'd have to be some kind of twistout/braidout so that i could have bangs.

Gorgeous afros, ladies! BMP, that last pic is absolutely stunning - hair on point and your eyes have a very nice shape to them. :yep:

I did an afro this morning after BCing - I haven't donned an afro in forever and don't plan on doing so again because I'm deathly afraid of tangling and knotting and I prefer how puffs look on me.

This is on naked (no product) hair that had been stretched in braids and combed out (so I could trim of the last relaxed ends similar to how one would trim a shrub :giggle:). Here's my amateur fro attempt-wore it for a few minutes before putting my hair in twists and then a puff:

Nope, I did a fro today. DH loved it. As it gets bigger I might because people kept touching my hair first time I went natural. My fro was Foxy Brown big and it kept compelling people to touch it. :wallbash:

No matter how long my hair gets I don't think it will ever weigh itself down. It's tooooooo fluffy.

I don't have a perfectly round Jackson 5 fro. I do a wng curly fro and my front/bangs flops in my face, but once it's dry it just keeps getting bigger. I've never picked it out, but I might try this summer. I really like the simplicity of the wng though..and the shape falls really well this way..:yep:
