I used it for a few weeks last month and had to stop. It was so drying on me I was literally in pain wearing clothes it was ridiculous. I heard rave reviews about it and my mum happened to have a bunch lying around the bathroom. She had Dudu Osun.
I heard it was really good for skin and hair so I showered with it everyday and used it on my hair when I needed to clarify. I used it once on my hair and it did leave it feeling moisturized. I noticed my skin getting so dry, it would split and harsh rashes appeared on my arms and back.
My clothes also felt super uncomfortable because they would rub on the dry skin. I stopped using it and went back to my usual shower gel. It took a while, but my skin has improved.
My mum doesn't have a problem with it though. I naturally have very dry skin so maybe it's just me
I was told to expect those reactions and I got them on my face. It's all part of the detox process apparently...I only use it once a week when I use a face mask or facial scrub. I can't use it on my face either. It's just too sensitive. I have to admit after a week using it on my face I wanted to pack it in and get some sort of refund but I noticed my skin started to get better and it looked brighter.
I would say go with how you feel. I use akamuti's baby soap on my face and orange cleansing cream. It works. My body is fine with black soap but not my face.
Cosmic was the product- dudu osun 100% pure african black soap?
I use it as a shampoo and face wash. My hair never feels stripped or dry when I use it to wash my hair. I also like the thought that I don't have to be dependent on SLS shampoos.
My skin really enjoys it as well. It feels moisturized without a residue on it after I rinse it off.
I took my soap and added it to an herbal infusion with a lil honey and I use it to wash my hair and shower. My skins feels wonderful after and hair is cleansed without feeling striped.
