Affirm Fiberguard turns pink?

Is it normal for the color to change after mixing with the activator?

It is normal (according to Avlon). It's just that the activator is yellow, so if anything I expected it to have a yellow tint. With the regular affirm no lye, that has pink activator, I don't remember it ever changing color. So it just seemed weird to me.

Sorry I cannot help you. I use Affirm Fiberguard but I use Lye.

Did you check the Website and look at the No Lye?

I used to use the lye one when I was relaxed so I can't help ya there. Its probably ok, girlie.

Not sure about Affirm, but I did use one brand that would change color when I mixed in the activator to indicate that you had properly blended the activator into the base evenly. Maybe that's what this is doing?
