When you do these do you guys rinse it out before putting in your conditioner?? Or do you put the conditioner on top of it w/o rinsing? If you rinse it right out, and then put conditioner on your hair, how does your scalp get any benefit from the vinegar?????
I do mine at the very end. That is, ACV rinses conclude my wash.
My reason: they leave my scalp with no product residue; close my hair cuticle to lock in moisture; and leave my hair with an acidic pH which helps with elasticity.
I conditioner wash, rinse, deep condition under dryer with moisturizing or protein conditioner, rinse all the conditioner out, then I do my ACV rinse, pat lightly with a towel, add leave in conditioner and oils, air dry or rollerset.
After the hair dries there is no vinegar smell not even on the towel I used to pat dry. I use 3-4 teaspoons of vinegar to about 1/3 of a gallon of distilled water.

No, Lindy, I don't rinse out my hair after my ACV rinse...and no my hair doesn't smell like vinegar. As I mentioned before, I only ever use VERY little ACV, and I usually add a few drops of rosemary essential oil and lavendar essential oil; so my solution has more of a herbal smell. The reason I put VERY little ACV isn't so much because I don't want the smell in my hair; but rather because I read on the Pantene website that too much acidity can be damaging. So I like to play it safe. If I were to give an estimate of how much ACV I use (since I don't measure), I'd say about 1/4 cup in 2 gallons of water. My argument being that even just a drop of ACV makes the water a touch acidic and that's better than no acidity at all.
