Well... I just recently started the Weight Watcher's Momentum plan -- and in one week i've lost 7.4lbs! :yay: I am SUPER excited! To add -- my hair has been growing at a decent rate, and I am almost 1 year to being without relaxer! :dance7:

I want to start working out on a regular basis, and i am worried about what to do with my hair! For the past two days, i have been doing a braidout with Hawaiian Silky 14-1, and rollers, and wearing freely at work. Ladies, tell me what works best for your Active Lifestyle, and what you would recommend for continued growth:strong:

I wear either a high bun with a head band to keep any stray hairs from falling or two braids, but I prefer a high bun or ponytail. I hate the feeling of my hair touching me when I'm sweaty.

I do not deal with my hair. I like to work out hard and I sweat a lot so I wear a weave 90% of the time. The rest of the time I have a wig on.

Congrats on your success! I usually wear my hair in a high bun or do braidouts. I work out often (and work up quite a sweat), so I wash frequently and airdry with leave-in conditioner and coconut oil or Ojon Revitalizing Treatment. My hair has been doing great.

I tried that, but i always end up washing my hair every time! Is that bad? My hair is naturally curly, so when i sweat, my straight styles never last because the roots get all wavy!:lachen: Thanks!

I do a twist out or knot out 2-3 times a week. I put it in a high messy bun on the days in between.

Right now, my hair is in a high messy bun!! I did a braidout last night that did not come out that well, but it looks great in a bun. I'm wondering if i should get a headband?

Thanks a million!!! It feels great! And, it seems like everyone is sticking with the braidouts! I am hoping that i see some major growth in this transition as well. I love Hawaiian Silky, but i am wondering if there is another product that will aid with the growth portion? I never heard of the product you are referring to...

If you'd like to wear your hair straight maybe you can do pincurls or tight pigtails to keep your roots stretched while you workout.

I find that the easiest thing is to wear a scarf or headband, and LEAVE my hair up until it's cool down/dried. If you take it down while your roots are still damp it will wave up.

however - for working out I think textured styles are waaay easier to maintain. And they're usually improved by a little sweat versus the other way around.

I think I'm going to try experimenting with dry shampoos too.

Thanks! I've tried keeping it tied up, but it always comes out really wavy at the roots or poofy, and straight at the ends! I am clueless on these products! Any advice on the dry shamppos?

I just tried my first one last night so I'm not an expert yet! I'm going to post a thread about it later I think. :yep:

I also like to bun during workouts. Later on when it dries, it stll has the same curl and bounce as before.

If I am maintaining a curly style, I pincurl my hair and spritz a liquid leave in on it. When I'm done, I spritz a little more leave in and leave in pincurled. I don't take it down until it's completely dry and my curls are in tact. For straight styles, a loose bun with a headband like everyone else. I make sure to towel off my face and hairline during the workout so my hair doesn't get drenched and will require me to cowash.

During workouts my hair is usually in a ponytail, but when I have to look decent, I go to my old faithfuls: half wigs and phony ponies. I usually wear my hair out once a week for church, but then it's back to my staples once it's time to sweat again!

Oh Thank you button...i can't wait until you return!:yep: Thanks to all of the ladies that responded to this thread. I did my workout last night with my high bun, and a headband. I left my bun in until this morning, and sure enough when i took it down, my braidout still looks good:grin:

I feel like my hair is thickening again as well, which is great!
