Acne On The Scalp

It sounds like you need to clarify to get rid of buildup from styling products. Suave makes a really good one that's not too harsh.

You can either clarify using a shampoo or a rinse (ACV, for example). Sometimes, the clarifying can be hard on the hair if you use the rinse, so you may want to start with the shampoo, or apply the rinse to your scalp only, using a spray or applicator bottle. HTH.

Hi Blacktresses
Sorry to hear about this.
I think you should see a dermatologist or trichologist. If you are putting something on your scalp stop because that could be the cause of your problem. Are you sure it is acne?

I agree with not putting oils or grease on your scalp. Also, make sure to clarify regularly, especially your scalp. Try using a spout bottle w/clarifying shampoo mixed w/water to apply directly to the scalp...that way it doesn't get on your hair too much. I use this method to get my scalp really clean...sometimes I mix a bit of Seabreeze in it.

If it's severe or doesn't go away, definitely see a dermatologist.

This has actually happened to me before. For one, I have eczema and I was using a lot of products on my hair which led to build up on my scalp. I also kept putting stuff like grease on top of it. Once I started making sure my scalp was clean before applying anything on it, the scalp acne disappeared.

sorry to hear about this. yes, i've had this happen also. it was due to a product I was using. so, through the process of elimination, I figured it out.

bump/bumping

Well...maybe it is hair bumps. I get a few of these spots maybeee....monthly.
I don't oil my scalp. Just oil hot treatments twice a week. My routine is as follows:

Everyday
Mornings I conditioner wash
Leave-In conditioner, Healthy Hair Butter, and Aloe Vera Gel

Mondays
Nite - Hot oil with virgin coconut and EO Rosemary, Tea Tree, Basil, Sandalwood,Balsalm, Lavender, Pepperment, Cederwood. Leave in til morning with
plastic cap

Tuesdays
Nite - Chloresterol Leave-in over nite with
plastic cap.

Wednesdays
Nite - I leave in Kenra MC with
plastic cap

Thursday
Nite - Spritz with distilled water and add avacado butter with
plastic cap

Friday
Nite - I leave a Suave protein conditioner over nite with
plastic cap

Saturday
Let hair rest with plastic cap

I don't think these thing should be causing a problem. What do ya think ?

I also think you need to see a derm/trichologist. I had something that looked like acne on my scalp last year, tiny bumps in certain spots. I was tripping because it wasn't everywhere, just certain spots. It would clear up then come back. I went to the dematologist who did a culture and turns out I had scalp infection that I needed antibiotics for. If you aren't putting anything dirctly on your scalp, I'd go have it checked out.
