Acne from Biotin - Here is a possible solution

I had acne free skin for as long as i can remember. now because of 5 mg of biotin I have some hard pimples that refuse to go down even with daily use of benzoyl peroxide. I bought clearasil three day formula and it helped somewhat but some of the bumps refused to budge. I applied castor oil overnight and they went down with no marks. Today I searched the net trying to find out what is in castor oil that would help acne.
rinoleic acid heals wounds without marks,
derivatives of castor oil include sebacic acid from which azelaic acid is made. azelaic acid is a treatment for acne.
castor oil solves other skin problems. I found this in the wikipedia. I was about to give up the high dose of biotin, but i really want to do one month to see if it works.

great info! i just got some stubburn bumps out of nowhere and that could have possibly helped me...they are gone now...i well keep that in mind if I have another skin emergency

Thanks for the info....cause I recently stopped taking Biotin for this very reason, and my skin still hasn't cleared up. You're talking about the clear kind in drugstores, right?

How do you use it? For example, do you apply the castor oil directly on the infected areas? Rub it in or just apply and let it sit? Do you dilute it with anything?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have a bottle of regular drug store castor oil just sitting around.

Thanks for sharing this. I have a zit that I will try it on today. I used to use castor oil as a nightly moisturizer on my face and I liked it. I didn't know it was good for acne though.

Thanks sweetie! Yeah, when it's all down and stretched it's almost to my waist-line. I will straighten soon to see what it's looking like. I have a bad feeling that right side is longer than the rest again *mad*.

I was just gonna pm you on your avatar, lol. Girl, your hair is looking so healthy and it looks just like silk!! I was just sitting here staring at your avatar the other day in awe, lol.

You are welcome!!! Oh my goodness, waistline  !!! That's so awesome. Well, if the rightside is longer, than...don't get mad, get even! (Sorry, I couldn't help myself on that one....I know, I'm being silly) I'm sure it will even out at some point.

Thanks Poka....I can't even believe how my own natural hair is!!! I'm falling in love with it now. I love the curls and I love when I straighten it. It's growing so much and I'm getting more and more excited about it as time is going on. I think I finally got my regimine down packed where my hair is responding so well. I hardley lose any hair now. I can now say I look forward to my natural hair journey!

Thanks for always encouraging me, Pokahontas. You are a blessing!!!

Don't feel bad Pokahontas, my hair does the same thing. The right side is about a full inch longer than the left! It's been growing like that for as long as I can remember. I wonder if it has to do with me sleeping mostly on my left side...?

Anyway, back on topic: I haven't had biotin breakouts, but the next time I *do* get a zit, I'm going to try the castor oil!

I apply it to my entire face, massage it in, let it soak, then go to bed with it on my face.

Zailless, I need to thank you... I had some horrible bumps pop up on my faces that would not leave.. It made me feel so ugly... Let me tell you, I bought some jamaican castor oil and the bumps are gone after a day of use... If I saw you I would give you a hug.. Thanks again for such a great tip..

Thanks for posting this! :) It can come in handy when my monthly visitor brings an unwelcomed guest along to vacation on my face.

I found this info.
I wanna give this a try....but I'm tired of buying things that don't work and I'm scared this might make my face breakout even more. :look:

I hope to hear some feedback from those who have tried this.

Clear your acne, and get beautiful skin.

For clear glowing skin, a little home remedy does wonders for my complexion, as it should with yours too.

Steam your face for 20 minutes every night after washing it, then every other night after steaming your face, massage a half teaspoon castor oil over face.

Leave it on at night while you sleep and wash off immediately upon waking.

Steam face for twenty more minutes in the morning after washing. When you finish steaming your face splash your face with cool water and dry it.

If your skin starts to show any signs of a pimple forming. Take one night off from steaming and applying castor oil and apply Benzoyl Peroxide over face.

Take the next night off also from the steaming, castor oil, and benzoyl peroxide. Continue facial regimen with steaming and castor oil the following night.

This beauty secret will moisturize your face at the same time it will help clear up acne and pimples. But only if you work at it consistently.

Steaming is WONDERFUL for the face and it should be done every day when you wash your face, even if it's by running a white face cloth under steaming hot water ringing it out and then laying it over your face after your foaming wash and before you put on your toner or moisturizer.

Well I've been using Castor oil and it is the truth. Like she stated..it will dry your skin but I have a moisturizer for that. All I know is that it will clear up those pimples.

I use a hot towel to steam my face.

You're right, it does dry your skin which is something I didn't know until mine actually started peeling. I had to stop use after that. I will incorporate castor oil into my regimen maybe once a week now so my skin won't get dry. I've been getting amazing results from jojoba oil though. It's my miracle oil. My skin is so clear and glowy from using this.

Great thread. I've read castor oil is good for moles too. I have one on the back of my knee that I want to experiment with and see if it works.

She also said you can mix it with another oil like jojoba or evoo. Use less of the castor if it is too drying.

I'm going to try the jojoba mixed with it and see how that works.
