Acevivi, $25 Electric Hair Brush Straightener...have Y'all Tried It?

I tried searching and I don't believe I saw it posted here. I saw "MyInvisibleChyrsalis" on Youtube try this brush out. And like her, I was a bit surprised about how well it performed on blown out natural hair. Her ends don't get totally straight in some parts but it does a good job nonetheless. It seems to work better at straightening blown out natural hair than the pink brush with those little red dots that always be coming off...

I don't straighten my hair all that often but this looks pretty tempting to buy but I wanted so see if any of the LHCF fam has tried it out before. Do y'all know about this brush? Like it? ....and I know that these brushes are just hot combs in brush form...lol

Saw these (different brand probably) at Walmart Saturday. Looks like it works well, unless you want dominican straight hair.

Those multiple passes can't be good for her strands though.

Yeah, I think when people have a brush they aren't as conscious of how many passes they are doing compared to when they have a flat iron. Probably feels like you're brushing your hair then you're like wait....this has heat still haha

Same, I could see myself using heat more often. Just having fluffy straight hair to bun or braid would be a nice way to take a break from my hair

Ohh I want. I need to see on relaxed hair. I blow dry now once a week and don't flatiron.

So I don't have that brand of brush straightener but my avatar shows the results from the fhi straightening brush. I hadn't used heat in my hair for 5 years so if you have trained or finer hair (and greater skill) maybe it will get your hair straighter than I managed.

I got more of a blow out.

Have you considered roller setting? It gets my hair stretched for other styles better than blow drying. Above is a roller set and I combed out the curls. It's not perfect, but it works.

and I've done a rollerset with traditional ones as well....but I need more practice I thought because my hair was long and I wanted it to be as stretched as possible, that I should use the biggest rollers....well they fit but it was super tricky to do. I need more practice with roller placement and maybe smaller rollers. What type of rollers do you use for your rollerset? Do you sit under a dryer as well?

I was a big fan of using smaller rollers because they get the roots more taut, but as I practiced setting I now get the same results with bigger rollers. I use the Capelli care hourglass/halo rollers (available on eBay) in the white size which is almost 2 inches. I like these because they have little grips which helps to get my ends straight.

If you use large rollers you have to make larger parts, and I've found its easiest to do in the Mohawk method. I do 6 or 7 rollers straight down the middle, and four on each side.

I sit under the dryer and I've found the warmer the dryer temperature the better my hair "sets". This can get uncomfortable so I recently purchase a cool cap bonnet attachment (on Amazon) to keep the heat of the dryer off my neck. It takes about 75 minutes for my hair to be fully dry.
