I wear my wig just about everyday, and I don't have thinning edges just yet but I would really like to avoid that from happening. This might sound corny but right before I put my wig cap on, I take end papers and dip them in castor oil, then I lay them against my edges. I have only been doing this for a week now, so I'm not sure If they are helping. But for everyday wig wearers, what do you do to keep your edges in the front from thinning out? I would really like to know.

Thanks!

Not a wig wearer---but i just wanted to say congrats on the baby girl and i like the name Constance!! Beautiful name

That seems like a good idea Sincerely. I was just fortunate to not have any thinning problems from wigs, I didn't do anything special and I'm a former wig/lacefront wearer. I was always gentle.

Yeah, I just know that some women do get thinning edges from wearing wigs all the time but hopefully not in my case. I will just be xtra gentle and see how it works out. Thanks for posting!

Last winter, I wore wigs for about 3 mths straight and I didn't have any thinning. I wore cornrows underneath the wigs. :yep:

I wore wigs for a year. the goal with wigs is circulation. i used dr miracles for the stimulation. i dont know if wigs cause you to lose hair because when i got my bald patch one part of my hairline regrew even while in the wig so i figured that wig doesnt affect growth. my patch was from mtg burn so to see my hair flourish under the wig, i cant say wig will make you lose your hairline.

I think my thinning came from the wig cap that I wore underneath. It was tight and sat right on my edges. I no longer wear it and am just very careful as half the time my wig is not pinned down.

The wig can become very addictive in a good way!

I agree with raeshan. I wore one of the thin stocking wig caps. It sat on and pulled at my edges. I made the mistake of pairing it with a wig I had that fit snug. It up rubbing a bald patch the size of a nickel on my hairline. I wore my hair in cornrows underneath while moisturizing with S-curl. I wore it for two months straight and got excellent growth but if you're not careful you can damage your hairline.
