Healthy Hair Quest..
I just wanted to take this time to thank Msportugal and all you other intelligent ladies for your tips and convincing me not to relax my daughter's hair.

My daughter's natural hair is becoming much more easier to do.

Last night we had the best wash session EVER!

I don't know if you remember, but her scalp is very sensitive. You can't even seperate her hair without her crying. Her scalp is sensitive to touch.

I gave her a pre-poo with Jojoba/Evoo/VO5 then washed her hair with SheaMoisture Shampoo. She was having some suspect breakage/excessive shedding, big knots where hanging on her ends. So I gave her an Alphogee Protein treatment. After rinsing, I took your advice and saturated her hair in conditioner (VO5) and then rinsed a little out, sectioned the back(most sensitive part) in 3 sections and clipped...no tears not even an ouch! She says, "Well what'da ya know, it doesn't hurt..."

Then I applied SheaMoisture leave-in, some oil and water mixture I have and a little Soft and Pretty Tea-Tree Hairdress to seal. I then began brushing with my new Revlon (knock-off Denman) and it went through her hair like nobody's business. The brush detangled her hair and defined her curls! I have to get pics to show you guys. She didn't cry not one time. Just a few ouches here and there but not the painful tears that almost drove me to relax her! I blow dried with the comb attachment with much ease.

I could have shouted in that bathroom!

Thanks for all your help!

Congrats! I know that my mother was always telling me that I couldn't get a relaxer until I was older. I'm so glad she was persistent.

wow great to hear that you have found an alternative that works for
both of you. I am anxiously awaiting pics. Happy growing!!!
