A Setback Might Be Coming

So due to improper flat iron techniques I think I maybe about to have a set back. I can flat iron the length of my hair really well, but when I get to the ends it goes out the window. I don't know how to flick the flat iron to get my ends to curl under and I just fry and fry them. My ends look kinda crispy. I'm sitting now with Nexxus Emergencee. I hope it works. I have never used it before. My stylist told me a few months ago my hair was in excellent condition and now I've messed it up. We'll see what happens.

you dont even have to flick the flat iron, i cant do that either, but when you get to the end. just pretend the flat iron is a curling iron and roll up the hair so your hair is wound around it. then roll it out by turning the flatiron over and over just like you would a curling iron. you can do that to create curls, ringlets or flips. :)

i hope your hair gets better :)

i just bend my rist a little. it takes literally 1 second because i hate to leave the flat iron on a piece too long. my ends feel just like the rest of my hair and i believe that is due to the type of flat iron too. when i was using my fhi i used the same technique but my ends felt really brittle and dry even though they didnt look it. when i started using my chi my hair feels really smooth and thick from the roots on down. so if its not your technique it could very well be the flat iron.

in any case, you just want to bend your rist just a little when you get to the ends. if your hair is like mine then if you bend too much and make a deep curl then when you comb to wrap it will cause breakage.

Sorry to hear that OP, I think I'm going thru the same situation. Being lazy blowdrying and hotcurling has dried my hair out so bad. I have learned my lesson. But all hope is not lost. Just go back to what you know is best for your hair and you should be fine. :yep:

why don't you do a protein treatments,dc's, keep ends moisturized/sealed and try protective styles for the next few weeks as a preventive? also, no direct heat for the next few weeks

Aw sweety! I am sorry! Question: Are you relaxed? I am also relaxed but I never, ever, never put the heat of my flat iron on my ends. I really hope that you baby your ends. Don't worry!
