If there is a thread on this already, please link it for me. If not, please share what you know about products like curly pudding. I am asking for my cousin. I told her I had a very good source (you guys) and could find out for her!

I'd also recommend the Bubble-Up Styling Pudding. I don't remember the website where I got it from, but they're located in Vegas.

Fantasia IC gel with Sparklites is a good knock off, according to those who have tried curly pudding.

apply a heavy/buttery moisturizer such as Elasta QP Mango Butter and after apply Fantasia IC Styling Gel w/ Sparkle Lites

tell your friend to be generous when applying because the whole point of it is to weigh the hair down!

I read on several message boards that citre shine curl booster combined with loreal out of bed crème/gel yields the same results.

KMS Curl up is really good. It works just as good as curly custard IMO.

I works really well. I've used other gels w/it and have gotten great results too.

Someone on here recommended Fantasia IC with Sparklelites about a month ago. My thanks to this person is long overdue. This stuff is great. I achieve my curly wash-n-go with no problems. It leaved my hair soft and shinny--It's the bomb!!

No that is the prep for the curl up. Curl up has an entire line (shampoo etc) I was talking about the KMS Curling Balm.

This is the one.

KMS Curling Balm

I recently bought the Curling Balm and Curl Up Bounce Back Spray for $9.50 together on Ebay
Ebay

My hair curled right up with just using the balm (haven't tried the bounce back spray)

The citre shine gel or the loreal? I have the citre gel and the curling custard. When I tried out the citre shine gel, it left my hair a little crunchy. I tried out the curling custard the other day and it was stickier but soft. I didn't let it dry all the way though so I'm not sure if it's sticky upon drying. One day soon I'm going to really put these products to the test!

This sounds nice. I use miss jessie's curly pudding. I really like it because it defines my curls really well yet it keeps my hair ultra soft! My question about the Sparklelites is does it have glitter in it? I know it may sound silly but the name kinda implies like it has some sparkly -ish in it. Thanks!

i just bought the fantasia ic and there are no sparkles. I actually looked for them when i bought it. LOL!

I just bought the Fantasia IC with Sparkle Lites (clear jar) and thank goodness it was cheap...

I tried to use it after washing to define my curls and it did that, but it made them hard and crunchy this morning. Is that supposed to happen? Did I use too much? I'm not particularly heavy handed, so I'm not sure if that's the reason.

Also, my sister tried it (she's natural, maybe 4a with some 3c like me) and it did the same thing do her hair. We used an even smaller amount on her hair...but same problem, it defined the curls, but it got hard and crunchy.

Any tips for application? Or can anyone recommend something that leaves your hair soft? Does the Paul Mitchell Foaming Pomade work?

TIA!!!

I tried the Citre Shine with 3 other gels. But from what you mentioned about crunchy hair, you wouldn't like those combos. They are all gels that make your hair harder than the Out of Bed gel.

My hair is pretty wirey and need really strong products for it to respond. :antlers:

when I use the gel I use a leave in moisturizer first or I mix it with some curl activator gel to get definition without a crunchy hold.
