I'm orginally from Chicago and I have noticed that we tend to be more honest w/expressing our opinions than people I have met from other places. THis does not excuse his rudeness, I"m just saying folks are wild and natural hair still isn't as common there as it is out here on the east coast where I live now.
So true. I went to Chicago on business with a co-worker and we were on the bus on our way to the mall. Now, she didn't have the best skin, but why oh why did this random guy on the bus ask her if she ever heard of Proactiv?? She just said yes, and the guy said, "ok". I was embarrassed for her.

Anyway, back to the topic...that guy was so rude. mj11051, I love the way you handled that!!! High five!

my female friends are usually apalled when i wear my "afro fluff".....men compliment the natural look alot, even black men....i was in the Oakland airport and a guy i went to highschool with worked there and came up and said, dang even when u dont comb ur hair it looks good...lol....i didnt tell him thats how i picked it out on purpose...

but the men who are closest to me love it....my dad been tellin me for years to grow it and guys ive dated/dating close to all love it....so men who don't..

doesn't matter

good response to original poster :)

But older men always give me funny looks. One day I went to bar I used to work at and the man that owns it, Told me to do my hair, I told him it's done and he turned his nose up. This man is close to 80:rolleyes: Go figure. But wite folks love it and they are always tryna stick their nasty little hands in it. Go figure:lachen:
