A Little Help, Please!

I started braiding my hair to keep it detangled while shampooing and conditioning. However, I’m having a difficult time keeping all six braids intact during the rinsing processes (half of them unravel ). Does any one have any tips or tricks for this method, or is this fairly common and I should just learn to live with it?

I put scrunchies or small silk or satin bands loosely on the ends just to hold them together. Then I slide them off wash, condition, rinse, rebraid and put them right back on. HTH Q
