A LHCF member returns home...

and has the time of her life.
Well, if you remember, I had been posting asking people about the Silk Elements relaxer and the ORS relaxer. I had stretched for a little over two months and I wanted to look good for the Magic City Classic and my first trip home since June.

Well, I had a lengthy layover in ATL, so guess what I did? I took MARTA to my old PJ stumping grounds at West End Mall just so I could pick up the Nature's Blessing Pomade and EQP DPR-11 that I most certainly cannot find where I currently live. PJism is for real, because I have never left the airport during a layover of any time period. The first time time that I do so is to pick a small thing of grease and some deep conditioner. Sad, I know.

Anyway, I purchased the ORS relaxer in the Extra Strength formula and applied it. The timer was set for thirty-five minutes. I used all of the relaxer except for a teaspoon maybe. I smoothed with the wooden stick, a relaxer brush, and my fingers (This is a no-no for me, because my hands are still dry). Guess what? My hair must have become extra-healthy, because the relaxer only took in the back after over thirty minutes. After neutralizing and deep conditioning, I air dried and flat ironed my hair.

LHCF, wearing those "uggily" buns, moisturizing daily, and deep conditioning at least every two weeks are worth it in my book. My hair had some serious hangtime and swing going on!! My mother who is a 60 year-old fashionista (I'm not) told me that my hair was beautiful and that it had grown nicely:eek: . I told my mom that she could do the same, but she responded that her hair only grows to a certain length. The funny thing is that her hair grows really fast whereas mine does not at all. I hope to convince her otherwise about her growth.

So, why did I say all of this? First, I felt good that the one thing that I am sowing into appearance-wise is noticeably improving. Moreover, when I passed by men at the game (at all levels), they made admiring comments to the extent that my brother said "Come on, so I won't have to hurt anybody:lol: " (This is really funny, because my brother is about as nonviolent at they come). Last, but not least, the people at church (including some w/ LHCF long hair) were saying that I looked good or complimenting my hair. This occurred even though I was underprocessed.

I do not take any vitamins or pills with the exception of cod liver oil and I do not apply any growth aids (Sulfur 8, doesn't count right?) Yet, my hair is still flourishing. ***Nota Bene: I am not knocking vitamins or growth aids.*** I want to thank LHCF for the knowledge you have given me. My hair is still not long by LHCF standards, but I am retaining more length and thickness than ever before. For that, I am so appreciative and I thought I would give honor where it is due.

Amen to that!

Girl, now that's some serious pjism you've got going on. :)

Ladies, thank you for your kind words.

Yes, I know I have problems. My PJism is so real that I count the brand new items that I decide to give to women's shelters as my benevolent/love offering. (Any Baptists in here? :lachen: ) My tithe goes directly to the church, but I feel that I am giving other women self-confidence to get back out there in the world.
Ah, the lies we tell ourselves.;)

Off Topic: Anyway, to the ASU graduate who responded, my parents dragging me to the Classic was 60% behind why I was so motivated to go to college. I wanted to find a way to have that experience. While I ultimately chose to go to an AUC school for a few key personal reasons, the Magic City Classic is still "magical" to me.

ETA: BTW, I consider myself a Christian first, Baptist second, so that it was I asked that question.
