a good holding spray

I just got my hair done for a wedding and the hairdresser used a great holding spray that did not leave my hair stiff and hard to comb through and the curl stayed. I dont know the name though.

Any recommendations for a good holding spray? Oh also, would a holding spray work if you are not using heat on it, like if i sprayed my hair and used those rods overnight?

For those special occasions when it's important to keep my hair in place, in use Nexxus Comb Thru. It's holds my style nicely and doesn't leave it feeling hard, stiff or sticky at all! It's the most gentle holding spray that I've found.
