i'm 13, almost 14, weeks post and i decided to *treat* myself to an ORS olive oil pak for deep conditioning yesterday... i will NEVER do that to my hair again!!!... i had such high hopes for this conditioner, but my hair came out horribly tangled and desert dry afterwards... it took me a ton of my aussie moist today followed by a ton of silicon mix as a leave in to make my hair feel half as good as it normally does... and detangling was a nightmare today... this truly hurt my feelings...

i can only hope that tomorrow, my hair will be back to normal after the silicon mix is rinsed out... :(

It has never made my hair feel dry, but it does leave too much build up for me. If I have not clarified, my hair gets nasty with this conditioner. I even have to clarify after I use it, which defeats the purpose. I don't use it anymore either.

oh boy. and i have been hearing how great this stuff is. I have like 4 packs in my bathroom. I guess I better give it a try and see if my hair agree with it or not.

Yep :yep:

Girl isnt that stuff a protein treatment, or contains high amounts of protein? That could be the reason why your hair was so dry and tangled afterward...you may not have needed all that extra protein.

It's really weird, because when I first tried this stuff, my hair couldn't have looked better. But with subsequent uses, it started getting tangled and dry. I think Honey Dew is right about the coating part. It's now out of my rotation.

Im not a hair expert , but I see that you use silicon, maybe this could be the reason. since i am assuming you use this a lot to make your hair feel better ... it could be blocking all moisture that you put in your hair. I absolutely love ORS pak.. so maybe you should clarify and give it a try , if it still does not work for you should send the rest to me to me:grin:

This stuff works great for me!! It only turns out badly if I need to clarify, but then no condish really works for me when it's time to clarify...

I use the ORS pak once a week and I am now 18 weeks post and my hair still loves it. I guess it reacts differently to everyone's hair. This has been a part of my reigmen for a months now and has become a staple. My hair loves this stuff. I just wish I could get in in a big jar instead of the little packets.

This stuff works great for me. However, I do not use it every week. I use it once in a while. I guess it works different for every1. I never tried using it once a week...I use motions CPR treatment once a week and it works great for me while it doesn't work for others. I agree with the clarifying thing also tho.

update: my hair is BACK!!!... i've been using my mane n tail, aussie moist and sunsilk cream and it's gotten back to it's previously non-dry state... with no tangles... now the only problem that i have is that i'm shedding a little more than usual so i did a aphogee 2 min reconstructor this morning so we'll see how that does... i am literally scared to use the ORS anymore but i only had the one pak so it shouldn't be that much of an issue...

just another episode of everything doesn't work for everybody.. ... i was even considering doing my touchup a little earlier if i couldn't get it together, but now it looks like i can still do my 16 weeks...

ORS pak works wonders for my hair! Its actually one of the few conditioners thats gives me consistent results as far as detangling and softening my hair close to touch-up time. I actually can't imagine this stuff having an adverse effect on someone's hair, but like you said, everything does not work well for everyone.

ORS is the debbil!!! My hair hell-hates it. It leaves me with a dry, tangled, hot behind mess.

Same here. but it is so odd how it works well for others.

My mother's hair LOVES it. I have been using all my ORS paks on her and she never has a problem.

I do clarify her hair weekly though.

It left my hair dry and tangled as well. I'm glad that I purchased it long before I read about it on the boards or else the junkie in me would've stocked up!!

i absolutely love ors olive oil pack! i use it at least once a month, and my hair continues to thrive. but just because a product works well for one person, doesn't mean that it's gonna work well for others too. everyone's hair is different...

I love ORS Replenishing Paks! I always whip one up with some LeKair Cholesterol for a yummy creamsicle pudding for my hair! My hair lubs it! :lick:

Okay, I finally used one of my Replenishing Paks, and OMFG!!! My hair LOVES this stuff, and the smell is HEAVEN!!! I will be going to every dollar store in a three county area and buying them OUT! co-signing. I absolutely love this lil pak. My hair is soo soft and mositurized after I use it. Its very consistant too. I can always count on it to give me a pick me up. I wish it came in a liter bottle like my best friend Humectress.

I love the ORS paks. They work really well when you use them with heat. I buy a display case of them every time they go on sale. My hair is really short, so I only use half a pak each time.

This stuff is the truth!! I just bought 4 paks on Sunday at Wal-mart, I started getting nervous because I had one pack left  The ORS pak really keeps my hair soft and I say it's good for stretching your relaxers.
