I'm at school right now so i cant get a relaxer unless i want to pay (no joke) $130 to get it done at the local salon, or take an hour train ride to new york, lol. I'm fine with not being able to get one for now at least because i can flatiron my roots really well. I'm really happy with my hair when i flatiron it, but i workout/dance alot so my ng reverts immediately during a hard workout. I'm not seeing the length retention i want so i want to start damp bunning but i'm scared of matting at the roots (i have about an inch) unless i blowdry them a little straighter, which would be more damage/manipulation...

cutting to the chase: for those who cowash and wet bun everyday AND stretch, do you have problems with matting/tangling at the roots? How did you prevent it/deal with it?

While I was working out daily I would rinse my hair daily to get rid of the sweat and I went to 12 weeks post with no problem. (I'm 4b) The key is to not fight with your new growth. Its gonna do what it wants and if you're trying to make your new growth look super sleek and straight then you're going to be disappointed.:yep:

After I rinsed, I let my hair airdry about 80% then put it in a loose bun, scarf it and go to sleep. The next morning my hair would be flat enough to bun as desired. Simple.

Moisurize good on the NG. ^^^ITA with rinsing daily, but I would apply my scarf while my hair is still wet so that it will be real sleek for the morning.
