54 oz Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil on sale

i heard nutiva coconut oil was good. i already have a full jar of another brand but if im ever in need i may check it out.

coconut oil can't be extra virgin, due to the expelling process; it's just virgin... but either way, whatever they want to call it, that's a dang good deal :lick:

i remember reading a thread about coconut oil on here a minute ago... a member had a really good article about why no coconut oil can be called "extra" virgin. i can't find it for the life of me, though :)

here are a couple of sites that may help explain; once i find the one i read before, though, i'll come back and post it.

Thanks for pointing that out, I remember reading that as well.

However that's the name on the Nutiva container and so, that's what I wrote. Whether it's true, not true I'm not sure I really understand it the difference anyway.

just pointing out a bit of general info. basically, some companies charge more $$$ and call their coconut oil "extra" virgin, while claming that regular ol' "virgin" coconut oil is dangerous (because of the saturated fat content). the truth is, both types of oils are exactly the same! when in the bind, go for the cheaper one. as long as they're both unrefined virgin oil, they're the same thing. :yep:

I went to Vitamin Shoppe with the intention of buying the Nutiva Brand, but the lady there informed me that Nutiva makes and packages the Vitamin Shoppe brand, so I bought that for less. I had it in my tea and I cooked some chicken with it and the taste of both was great.

I got mine!!!!! I walked into the store and asked for the Internet Price :)
Won't need any Coconut oil - For about 4 months!!!
