I ask because I have a friend who I hadnt seen in about this time span and when I saw her again her hair was waist length ....and shes not tellin me how

Yes. This is very possible, but most likely her hair just grows that fast naturally, so there is nothing she can tell you. Some people got it like that.

My mother is the same way. My hair grows about 1/3 inch a month. :angry2: My mother's hair grows about 3/4 - 1 inch a month. Everyone is different.

It's possible for some people and mostly depends on genetics. Did you have long hair as a child? Do other people in your family have long hair - or hair that's been long in the past? These are things to consider.

If a person is genetically inclined then, yes, 1 inch or more a month is possible.

Seasonal growth spurts, a healthy diet including adequate intake of vitamins and minerals and water, exercising or being active, reducing stress are all reasonable ways someone might have a surge in hair growth.

Did she also lose weight? Quit smoking? start up on a new multivitamin? is her life less stressful? (is she pregnant?) She could had made life changes that could have favored her hair growth.

besides genetics, and other than those things that generally goes towards overall health, she could had also gained length by temporary using hair growing tricks found here in this board. There are numerous topical treatments, numerous internal supplements, and many healthy hair practices that encourage retention.

Idk what shes doing and as long as, I have known her she has alwas been an persistent daily heat user and she never moisturizes because she says it will ruin her press .... Im speechless but I gotta know her secret ! .... Maybe it is hereditary

Not consistently, but I have (I'm in the challenge). Either way, average growth is .5 inches and some people naturally get .75 inches or 1 inch a month.

I'm actually not sure how it happened - I only did it twice, I think. At the time, I was eating healthy, drank 1-2 green shakes a day, exercised 3-4 times a week, took my multivitamin + hair vitamin...eat a LOT of protein...minimal alcohol...basically went hard with the healthy lifestyle.

Yeah, an inch per month is possible. A diet with maxed out nutrition, exercise, low stress and the right scalp care practices :yep: it's doable.

Lol imma search her house

Honestly, you've gotten great advice here though. For me, the biggest thing is eating healthy food. Eggs, milk, lean meat, salmon, multi-vitamins, fruits, vegetables, have all helped me attain a good amount of length at some time or another. Make sure to retain it as well because without that, your length is down the drain.

It's not possible for me because my hair does not grow that fast. On a good month I'm ALMOST @ 0.5 inch.

green shakes made my hair FLOURISH I was getting almost an inch per month combined with it being summer and exercise. so i'm sure it was a combo of those things but green shakes are awesome for hair growth.

EllePixie

This is nice to know. I have always wondered why some people hair grew so much faster. I thought we were all on the same playing field. Very interesting. Wow. Wonder how much my hair grows per month.

Making a grocery list with all of these items, my number one hair goal is retention so any advice to attain length I incorporate into my regimen!

when i first went natural i was getting an inch a month every month. i co washed daily so i think it had to do with rubbing my scalp daily and very little manipulation because all i did was wash and go. and i only used leave in.
back then i didnt use a comb either. my hair still seems to grow pretty fast but i have not been measuring.
